How Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards hid her pregnancy with baggy clothes and throwback pics on Instagram
LITTLE Mix are good at two things – pop bangers and keeping their pregnancies incredibly secret.
Today, Perrie Edwards shocked us all by revealing she is having her first child with footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Just like Leigh-Anne Pinnock before her she hid her baby bump in a range of clever ways before unveiling it in an explosive photo shoot.
Perrie wrote alongside the arty snaps today: “So happy to be on this wild journey with my soulmate. Me + Him = You 🌎♥️. We can’t wait to meet you baby Ox!”
Here, we reveal just how she kept her baby secret under wraps for so long.
From time-honoured wheezes like wearing baggy clothes to modern techniques like posting old snaps on Instagram, Perrie fooled us all…
Enormous outfits
Perhaps we should have realised something was up when Perrie rocked up to the Capital Radio studios in London wearing an outfit so large it could be a silk marquee in its spare time.
Of course, like the ultimate style icon she is, the 27-year-old singer looked great striding through Leicester Square with her co-stars.
However little did we know two of the three were pregnant when the snap was taken on Friday 30 April.
Jade Thirlwall helped out by wearing a top just as baggy as her co-stars’ as they strolled along hand-in-hand.
Throwback photos
Perrie’s Instagram page wouldn’t give you much of a steer there was a baby on the way – not least because there are a string of pictures of her in a bikini.
Showing off a very flat stomach she wrote: “Lockdown 3 has provided zero content, so here’s some random s**t 😌.”
Now one thing you won’t be short of when you have a baby is content, lockdown or not.
Clever camerawork
It’s tricky to keep up the #sultrysnaps necessary when you’re one of the world’s leading pop merchants but also really quite pregnant.
So we have nothing but respect for Perrie’s clever posing techniques that managed to show off her figure and keep her secret.
Last month she shared a series of pictures – with the full-length shots taken from behind with the star looking over her shoulder, and the ones from the front cropped at just the right spot.
The same was true a week ago when Perrie came over all Titanic and posed with a chunky jewel round her neck.
She wrote: “But I thought the old lady dropped it into the ocean in the end?” The ocean might be good at keeping secrets Perrie – but it’s not the only one.
