Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne and Lena Dunham are divided between Kendall Jenner and Taylor Swift after Kim and Kanye feud
Singer's pals have failed to come to her defence amid headline-grabbing row with Kanye West
TAYLOR Swift has suffered another blow amid her feud with Kanye West as members of her 'girl squad' have failed to come to her defence.
The singer has been embroiled in storm of controversy over the last week, and it now appears her gang of best friends have deserted her.
Taylor has been embroiled in a headline-grabbing row with the rapper and his wife Kim Kardashian after the reality TV star leaked a recording of a phone conversation between the singer and her husband.
The call was about a line in a Kanye song called Famous that mentions Taylor's name, which the singer suggested had been added into the track without her consent.
The incident came just days after Taylor was publicly blasted by her ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris, and it sparked a major public backlash against the pop superstar.
Calvin slammed his former lover - who is now dating Tom Hiddleston - in a lengthy Twitter rant after it emerged she had secretly written his song This Is What You Came For.
Taylor has since been mocked by fans, who have bombarded her with snake emojis, and the hash tag#TaylorSwiftIsOverParty was born.
Many had expected members of Taylor's 'girl squad' to come out in her defence, but the singer's closet friends appear to have distanced themselves from the pop star in her time of need.
It also appears friendships with Kendall Jenner - Kim Kardashian's younger half-sister, has divided the group.
The scandal hit Taylor just days after she hosted her annual Fourth of July party for pals including Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne and Karlie Kloss.
They were all pictured enjoying the festivities at Taylor's party, but fans have noticed they have been quiet on the subject of their embattled friend since she was engulfed in scandal.
Karlie, who has been Taylor's best friend for several years, had been expected to be among the first to speak out in defence of the singer.
However, the Victoria's Secret star has failed to give her pal any public backing.
Another of Taylor's model pals, Gigi, has also been noticeably silent on the subject.
Gigi was among the revellers at Taylor's party, but she has also failed to speak out on her behalf following the Kanye feud.
However, Gigi has been spotted spending time with Kendall Jenner, sparking rumours the girl squad has been split in two due to divided loyalties.
The two models were pictured attending a music festival in New York City together over the weekend, but there was no sign of Taylor.
Another pal present at Taylor's Fourth of July party was British model Cara, but she has been boasting of her new squad on social media.
She is busy promoting her new film Suicide Squad, and fans have noticed the references to her "SKWAD" of actor buddies instead of her female friends in Taylor's group.
However, one member of the squad who did come out on Taylor's side was longtime pal Selena Gomez, who appeared to show her support for the singer in a defiant post on Twitter after the scandal hit.
Selena tweeted: "There are more important things to talk about… Why can’t people use their voice for something that f**king matters?"

Girls actress/creator Lena Dunham is also a close friend of Taylor's, and the outspoken actress bucked the trend by wading straight into the furore after Kanye released the video for Famous last month.
Lena took to Facebook to write a passionate post in defence of Taylor, insisting she did not like to see her being sexualised in the promo.
She wrote: "I don't have a hip cool reaction, because seeing a woman I love like Taylor Swift (fuck that one hurt to look at, I couldn't look), a woman I admire... reduced to a pair of waxy breasts made by some special effects guy in the Valley,...
"It makes me feel sad and unsafe and worried for the teenage girls who watch this and may not understand that grainy roving camera as the stuff of snuff films."
However, Lena has yet to add any more thoughts about Taylor's inclusion in the Famous project since the emergence of the phone call, which was posted online by Kim.
Taylor had insisted she did not give the rapper "permission" to reference her in the track as she had no idea he referred to her as a "b***h".
He rapped:"I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. I made that b**** famous."
However, the call which Kim posted online appear to reveal Taylor and Kanye talked at length about the content of his lyric.
She described Kanye as a “friend” and insisted the song is “like a compliment” and “obviously very tongue in cheek”.
