Speaking on today's This Morning, he quipped that he might be off screens for a bit - at least on ITV.

After Big Brother voiceover legend Marcus Bentley ran down what was coming up on the programme, the likeable Irishman made his cryptic statement.

He said: "Which reminds me Celebrity Big Brother is this week.

"I'll not be seeing you next week, I can't say more than that."

Eamonn has previously spoken about being approached to appear on the iconic reality show, only to be blocked by wife Ruth.

He previously explained: "I have been asked to do Celebrity Big Brother and I say to Ruth, 'I don't think we can ignore this now.'

"She is like, 'That is not happening. I am not having people see what you're really like. You and your underwear.'

"It boils down to my underwear why I am not allowed to go on."

If she changes her mind about the nation seeing her husband in his smalls, then he'll be in good company.

Also lined up for the new series - which starts on Thursday - are Katie Waissel, Grant Bovey, Dog The Bounty Hunter's wife Beth, Christopher Biggins and X Factor reject turned webcam millionaire Chloe Mafia.

UPDATED: The Sun has exclusively revealed the Celebrity Big Brother line-up of 13 celebrities going into the house, including including Danity Kane singer Aubrey O'Day, Anthea Turner's ex-husband Grant Bovey and US reality star Beth Chapman.
