Watch the hilarious moment Eamonn Holmes takes a personal call live on This Morning
Presenter's phone rang interrupting an interview with Jamie Oliver
EAMONN Holmes was left red faced when his mobile phone rang live on This Morning on Tuesday.
The 56-year-old was sat alongside wife Ruth Langsford as they chatted to TV chef Jamie Oliver about superfoods when his phone started ringing in his jacket pocket.
Ever the professional, Eamonn didn't miss a beat and continued to read the list of superfoods Jamie is encouraging people to eat as he pulled his phone out to see who was at the other end.
Intrigued, Ruth asked: "Ooh hello. Who is it?"
While some presenters would quickly end the call without answering, Eamonn spotted a moment for humour and answered the call, revealing it was his Sky News colleague.
He said: "Steve will you go away I’m on air at the moment."
"If you look at your telly, I’m on. Do you not watch the television?"
As Eamonn spoke, Ruth giggled away, while Jamie looked on with amusement too.
Eamonn ended the quick call saying: "OK, bye bye, thank you bye bye."
Jamie added: "I would have loved to have spoken to him, who is Steve?"
The couple explained how Steve is a news presenter on the channel, with Ruth saying: "It’ll be his day off he will have forgotten."
The incident amused viewers immensely, with many taking to Twitter to tweet those involved.
One wrote: "@skystephen loved when you rang @EamonnHolmes up whilst he was on @itvthismorning . Just seen it on catch up. so funny guys," while another added: "Only @EamonnHolmes would answer his mobile phone live on air - he's constantly keeping me entertained".
