Corrie’s Kym Marsh reveals Gordon Brown’s wife Sarah sent her a letter after tragic death of premature son Archie
Sarah's daughter was born premature and died in 2002
KYM Marsh has revealed that Gordon Brown's wife Sarah reached out to her after the tragic death of her son Archie.
Archie was stillborn at 21 weeks in 2009 after Kym suffered from a condition which caused her body to reject the pregnancy.
Kym went on to have Polly, five, with her former husband Jamie Lomas, who was also Archie’s father.
The former Hear’Say singer also has two grown-up children from a previous relationship, Emily, 19, and David, 21.
Sarah had been through a similar situation to Kym as her daughter Jennifer Jane was born prematurely and died in January 2002.
Speaking to Now magazine, Kym said: "Sarah Brown contacted me; she sent me a handwritten letter which was lovely.
"It's a strange thing, because when you lose a baby in those circumstances it becomes a taboo subject and people feel that they shouldn't open up and discuss it.
"But I found that talking about it really helped me."
The Coronation Street star's daughter Polly was born eight weeks premature but is doing well.
Kym said: "She was only 4lb 1oz when she was born, so they told me she's always going to be tiny, but actually she's tall.
"You do hope she's going to meet all those milestones because the doctors told me: 'Don't expect Polly to meet them all because she was born so early'.
"But we had her first school report yesterday from her reception class and she's absolutely where she should be."
After losing Archie and Polly being born early, Kym, 40,has decided not to have any more children.
She is currently dating her 27-year-old personal trainer Matt Baker.
She explained: "After I had Polly I was going through a lot of stuff woman-wise and my consultant said to me: 'Do you want more children?' and I said no because I don't think I could go through that again.
"It took its tool - not just on me, but my kids and my family and I just though, I have three amazing children and an angel who takes care of us all - what else could I possibly have?
"I'm really happy with what I have and I'm lucky as some people can't have any."
