Harry Redknapp ‘excited’ to be a grandad again as Jamie expects baby with Swedish model Frida Andersson

HARRY Redknapp says “it’s exciting times” that he’s about to become a grandad again.

The Sun exclusively revealed that Harry’s son Jamie Redknapp, 47, was expecting his first baby with model girlfriend Frida Andersson.

The Swedish beauty, 37, is three months pregnant, with the baby due in November.

The new arrival will make Harry a grandad for the sixth time, with the former football manager sharing his excitement publicly today.

“I’m really pleased, it’s good news and looking forward to that, it’s exciting times,” Harry told TalkRadio.

The I’m A Celeb winner also opened up about how he loves taking his grandkids to the football, but is sure not to put his manager hat on when watching them play.

“I enjoy spending time with the grandkids, I enjoy going down to watch them play football or whatever they’re playing,” Harry explained.

“I like taking them to the football on a Saturday.”

He revealed all of his grandkids are budding football stars, but he’s content if they’re just happy playing the game.

“They’re all keen, there’s a lot of good kids around and the standards are high, but they do enjoy playing,” Harry said

“I encourage them to play and if they become footballers, great, if they don’t just keep playing, make friends, and enjoy football.

“I don’t shout at them and keep out the way and hope they’re having fun.”

Harry added: “I just stand right out the way and I hear the parents shouting at the kids and I think ‘that’s not the way’, just let them enjoy it.”

Former England and Liverpool footballer Jamie is already dad to Charley, 16, and Beau, 12, from his marriage to singer Louise Redknapp, 46.

The couple split after 19 years of marriage, with the divorce finalised in December 2017.

Frida, 37, has four children from her marriage to US hedge fund manager Jonathan Lourie.

A source said: “Jamie and Frida are absolutely delighted.

“They’ve been virtually inseparable in lockdown, and their relationship has gone from strength to strength.

“The couple started telling their nearest and dearest last week.

“Jamie’s been telling pals he’s really excited to be a dad again — less excited about the sleepless nights, and ­nappy-changing.

“But both he and Frida will be brilliant, hands-on parents.”

Jamie has been dating Swede Frida for the past 18 months after being introduced through pals.

Sky Sports pundit Jamie played 350 times for Liverpool and was capped 17 times for his country. Injury forced him to retire in 2005.
