While Beyonce has scored a career-best 11 nominations from her visual album Lemonade, Adele still managed an impressive eight — the majority for her comeback single Hello.

The pair will go head to head as they challenge for Video of the Year, Best Female Video and Best Pop Video, among several others.

It is the first sign that Adele could be on for another Grammys haul when the annual US ceremony rolls around next year.

The Brit singer will have divided loyalties when the awards do comes around on August 28 in New York, as she has previously made no secret of her love for Beyonce.

Earlier this year she compared her to “Jesus f***ing Christ” and said: “Beyoncé is the sickest artist around in the whole entire world. It’s unbelievable.”

Adele aside, the UK is well represented at the 2016 VMAs.
