Zayn Malik moves closer to girlfriend Gigi as he reveals he’s quit the UK to relocate to the States

ZAYN Malik has revealed he has quit his life in England and relocated to the States.

The One Direction star will now be closer to his girlfriend Gigi Hadid, who he has been dating since March after upping sticks and heading across the Pond.

The Bradford-born star is now based in Los Angeles and admitted his “entire life has changed in the last year”.

Speaking to , the pop star said: “I'm still taking it all in. I've found so much out about myself. Mostly how in love with music I still was.”

His move echoes that of what fellow boyband member Robbie Williams did in 2004.

After Robbie quit Take That in 1995 he moved to Los Angeles a few years later to escape the success and pressure being the chart-topping group had brought on him.

And Zayn added that despite being a permanent resident of LA now, he still pops home to see his family where he can relax and be himself.

He said: “When I go back to Bradford they treat me exactly the same. It's why I only ever go back for a few days, otherwise they have me taking out the bins.”

The move to the US also means that Zayn, who quit 1D last year, is closer to his model girlfriend Gigi Hadid who he has been dating since March.

He said of the Victoria’s Secret model: “She's super intelligent.  I think that's why it works so well. And we do the same type of job so we get that with each other.”

Last month, Zayn cancelled his solo performance at the Capital FM Summertime Ball at the very last minute, blaming stress and anxiety.

He revealed: “I don’t have it in me to feel secure in anything I do. I always strive towards something better.
