Page 3 legend Sam Fox ready for fame again as she enters Celebrity Big Brother ‘in memory of her ex’
The blonde icon explains the emotional decision behind signing up for CBB and why she wants Taylor Swift to play her in a film
SAM FOX is back in the spotlight 30 years after being our No1 Page 3 girl.
Since those glory days, Sam has hidden away from the public eye and endured secret heartache.
But after joining Celebrity Big Brother last night she’s ready to embrace fame again.
In an exclusive interview before walking into the TV house, Sam opened up in a rare, emotional chat about her late love and new-found happiness.
Sam, signed up for the C5 show in memory of long-term partner Myra Stratton, with Sam, who died last August after a two-year battle with cancer.
She revealed: “Myra wanted me to do this.
We saw the producers two years ago when Myra got diagnosed.
“Before she died she told me she wanted me to do it.
“She said, ‘I think you’d be great — just go and do it.
You’ll be really good Sammy, people don’t realise how witty you are and what fun you are’.
Since Myra’s death Sam has found love again.
And in her first in-depth interview about her new Norwegian girlfriend, mum-of-two Linda Birgitte Olsen, Sam revealed the pair were “very happy”.
She said: “I met somebody a couple of months ago and it’s very new. It’s working out just great and we’re very happy.
“She’s a lovely girl. She’s not in the business which is wonderful.”
Sam was cheered on by Linda as she went into the Big Brother house together with fellow celebs including CHRISTOPHER BIGGINS, GRANT BOVEY and X Factor finalist KATIE WAISSEL.
But her new lover is hoping she won’t be in the house too long.
Sam said: “She wants me voted out first. She said, ‘I’ll miss you but please come out the first!’ ”
While Sam used to ditch her kit for the cameras, the Page 3 icon has hit out at the amount of nudity and sex on telly these days.
She blasted: “I don’t agree with the fact girls can’t stop having sex and getting naked on TV — it’s tacky.
Sex is a very private thing — I certainly wouldn’t have sex on TV.
With Page 3 it was a one-to-one with a photographer. It was private, I kept it classy.”
Sam is currently writing a tell-all book and wants TAYLOR SWIFT to star in a biopic.
The 5ft 1in star said: “I’d want Taylor Swift to play a young version of me.
"She’s worldwide known, she’s a fantastic singer, and she seems to be a down to earth, lovely person.
"She’s very tall but we’d put the other actors on a box.”
Practical.
Swapping BBC kitchens
SATURDAY Kitchen has been a merry-go-round since JAMES MARTIN left the helm in March – with celebs such as LORRAINE PASCALE, MICHEL ROUX JR and DONAL SKEHAN taking on his role as host on a weekly rotation.
But now BBC Breakfast presenter LOUISE MINCHIN has declared an interest in taking over from James permanently following her success in reaching the Celebrity MasterChef final.
She said: “Presenting and cooking would be great.
"I’d love to take on Saturday Kitchen – that would just be brilliant fun.”
Louise, above, who faces JIMMY OSMOND and ALEXIS CONRAN in tonight’s final at 8.30pm on BBC1, credits the atmosphere of BBC Breakfast for her MasterChef success.
She said: “I think doing my mad job helped me because I’ve got loads of pressure at work and things are changing and going wrong all the time.
“I think the worse it is, the calmer I am, so that probably worked to my advantage.”
With Saturday Kitchen’s Omelette Challenge always going wrong, her cool head surely makes her a perfect fit.
