Victoria Beckham reunites with the Spice Girls for charity campaign as she wears Wannabe T-shirt
VICTORIA Beckham has joined forces with her fellow Spice Girls to raise important funds for charity.
The fashion designer, 47, reunited with Spice Girls Mel C, Emma Bunton, Geri Horner and Mel B to launch her limited edition Pride t-shirt.
All the Spice Girls posed in the white t-shirt that uses the name of their hit debut single to promote a message of pride and love.
“Proud and Wannabe your love,” the t-shirt reads in a combination of rainbow coloured letters and black font.
Victoria also posted a short clip from the iconic 1996 video for Wannabe to Instagram.
Money raised from the £80 t-shirt – available on the Victoria Beckham website – will go towards LGBTQ+ youth homeless charity, akt.
Along with the t-shirt, Victoria is also selling a black pouch emblazoned with the same logo for £95.
Victoria explained why the Spice Girls supported the LGBTI community.
“Pride to me is a celebration of being completely yourself and this year’s T-shirt is a reminder of that,” she wrote on one of her multiple Instagram posts dedicated to promoting the t-shirt.
“The Spice Girls really championed accepting yourself and others, being kind, having fun and just living your best life!
“The LGBTQ+ community is so close to my heart and I’m so proud to be supporting Pride 2021 with the girls and akt again this year.”
Later in the day she once again posed in the t-shirt on the stairs of her London mansion and later in her huge walk in wardrobe.
“Obsessed with our #Pride2021 T-shirt! 🌈🌈,” she wrote on the Instagram post.
“Shop now at victoriabeckham.com, 100% of proceeds go to @aktcharity, to continue funding the amazing work they do to combat LGBQT+ youth homelessness in the UK.
“I can’t wait to see you wearing yours, please tag me in your pictures! x VB”
Her fans loved the initiative, with one fan writing: “Such a beautiful T-shirt 😍🌈”
Another added: “Well done @spicegirls and @victoriabeckham 🌈🏳️🌈❤️ #pridemonth”
And a third said: “NEED 👏 THIS 👏 SHIRT 👏 NOW 🌈”
The Spice Girls weren’t the only ones to get behind the Pride t-shirt, with Victoria’s footballer husband, David also taking to Instagram to promote the fundraiser.
Posing proudly alongside one of the t-shirts, David wrote: “If you wannabe my lover… YEP @victoriabeckham 😂 Happy #PrideMonth.”
It’s been a big 24 hours of Spice Girls throwbacks for Victoria who also posted a vintage pic of the girl group dressed like the cast of Baywatch.
Victoria celebrated World Ocean Day with a snap of all five of the girls in red swimsuits.
Victoria captioned the pic: “Happy World Oceans Day! I have so many happy memories by the ocean 🌊 but this spicy Baywatch moment is one of my favourites @emmaleebunton @therealgerihalliwell @melaniecmusic @officialmelb ❤️”
While it’s good to see the girls back together, The Sun reported last month how they lost out on a huge £4million after the coronavirus pandemic forced them to abandon plans for their reunion tour.
