Liam Payne spotted joining Little Mix at recording studios in West London
The One Direction star recently signed a solo record deal
LIAM Payne appears to have teamed up with fellow X Factor star Little Mix as he begins his solo career.
The One Direction star was pictured making his way in a recording studio in West London where the 2011 X Factor winners were busy working on new material.
Liam was dressed casually for the studio day as he teamed a grey top with tracksuit bottoms and matching trainers.
He was seen making his way into the building accompanied by members of his team while he held his mobile phone in hand.
Liam and the Little Mix ladies - Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock - have been firm friends since meeting during the 2011 series of The X Factor.
The Sun Online has contacted representatives of Liam for comment.
His presence in a music studio follows speculation over the title of his first solo singer after it was announced that he has signed a deal with Capitol Records.
Liam, 22, recently registered the name of a song with BMI, the songwriting licensing platform, alongside songwriter Sara Harmouch which is called "Meet Me Half Way".
The singer - who is dating Cheryl Fernandez-Versini - announced the news of his new record deal last week but said One Direction would always be his "family".
He said at the time: "I'm really happy to have signed to such a prestigious label as Capitol Records UK.
"Capitol Records has an amazing history stretching right back before even Frank Sinatra and I'm really looking forward to becoming part of their story.
"One Direction will always be my family; I'm now excited to show what I can do as a solo artist."
