Meet Adam Levine’s wife Behati Prinsloo: Nambian model on Victoria’s Secret fashion show catwalk
MODEL Behati Prinsloo is set to strut the runway at Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2024.
In an all-women lineup on October 15, 2024, fans of Behati are looking forward to seeing her on the catwalk of Victoria's Secret's first major show since 2018.
Born on May 16, 1988, Behati Prinsloo is a popular model from Namibia.
She was discovered vacationing in Cape Town with her grandparents.
She has appeared in fashion campaigns for brands such as Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang, Louis Vuitton, Versace, and Ralph Lauren.
Victoria's Secret Angel
In 2007, Behati garnered wider recognition after walking in a Victoria's Secret show.
In 2009, she signed for the brand becoming a Victoria's Secret Angel.
She has walked in ten Victoria's Secret Fashion Shows in her career, spanning 2007–2018, missing only two due to pregnancy.
Her contract with the famed lingerie brand came to an end in 2019.
"It’s such an amazing place where you want to be as a model. It’s a career goal.
"There’s such a small amount of girls who are part of it and they have such amazing and hardworking reputations."
She added: "My experience with the brand has grown better and better.
"You have such friendships with people and they’re very loyal. They have always believed in me.
"You can’t really call it a fashion show because it’s a performance."
Behati stated: "It also allows you to be yourself and bring out your personality. I love that it’s like that. It’s bigger than life."
As well as appearing in ads for Victoria's Secret she's also represented Savage x Fenty.
Aside from fashion, the runway star also appeared in music videos by Missy Elliott, Maroon 5, and Selena Gomez.
"I think I have always felt so lucky in my career and in my life as a model and I have always felt so grateful for the opportunities that I’ve had," she stated.
"I feel very overwhelmed that I have been able to get this far to now be able to choose what I want to do."
In September 2021, Behati reunited with some of her fellow VS angels to walk the runway in Rihanna's Savage x Fenty fashion show.
The spectacle featured her alongside former VS angels Adriana Lima, Gigi Hadid, Joan Smalls, and Irina Shayk.
Maroon 5 & motherhood
In 2012, Prinsloo began dating Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine.
The couple married in Mexico in 2014.
On September 21, 2016, the couple welcomed of their first child, daughter Dusty Rose.
Behati appeared in the 2018 Maroon 5 video entitled, "Girls like you," alongside her husband and their daughter Dusty Rose.
Shortly before Behati gave birth to their second daughter Gio Grace on February 15, 2018, Adam spoke to Ellen Degeneres to reveal that his model wife wanted more children in the future.
“I want a lot. I thrive in chaos,” he exclaimed.
He also claimed that Behati “wants 100 babies”, but admitted, “I don’t know if I could do that."
On September 6, 2022, it was revealed that Behati was expecting a third child with The Voice coach.
