Coronation Street hunk Dan Brocklebank SLAMMED by Celebrity First Dates fans as he searches for a man
Telly addicts accused the star of hammering on about his TV career to date Dustin
CORRIE star Dan Brocklebank came under fire from Celebrity First Dates fans left annoyed by his career boasts on-screen.
Viewers took to Twitter to seemingly take the actor, who plays vicar Billy, down a peg or two after his stint on the Channel 4 show.
He was paired with Dustin, a visual merchandiser who admitted he steered clear of soaps and hadn't ever watched the hit ITV show.
Things got off to a good start when conversation flowed yet as it became clear Dustin wasn't aware of Dan's TV status, Dan blurted out: "I'm on TV six days a week!"
Her felt the need to hammer it home - despite at first saying it was good the American didn't know who he was because of the issues of being known to the public.
At the end of the show, he continued to stress his date's lack of small screen knowledge and added: "He doesn't even watch television so ..."
Yet Dan's apparent bigging up of his showbiz credentials sparked an online fury on Twitter.
One irked viewer wrote: "This d**k from corrie loves himself.
"Aw I'm on TV he says every two seconds. F**k up."
Another added: "This vicar off corrie clearly thinks he's more popular and famous than what he actually is awkward!" while another ranted on similar lines and said: "This Corrie bloke is actually a lot less famous than he thinks he is."
His comments raised the eyebrows of one confused user who posted: "Your worried about people knowing you are on TV but just showed off ???" while another saw the funny side and wrote: "The Corrie bloke is f**king fuming that his date has no idea who he is."
Another wrote: "This Corrie guy seems to think he's Madonna!"
