Tom Hiddleston’s chances of taking over from Calvin Harris as face of Armani ruined thanks to Taylor Swift romance
Armani think they’re too ‘classy’ to have another one of Taylor’s exes
TOM Hiddleston’s relationship with Taylor Swift may have just lost him an iconic modelling deal with Armani, which would have seen him replacing her ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris to sport their infamous Y-fronts.
The 35-year-old has been seen gallivanting around the globe with Taylor, 25, since they started dating in June, but have left many cringing over their public displays of affection.
Now a fashion insider has told The Mirror that Armani won’t be associated with that kind of PR coverage.
“Tom was on the shortlist as they examined who could take over from Calvin.
“Obviously with Tom now being Taylor’s other half and the Calvin past deal, it would generate huge media coverage and headlines.”
In an extra blow, the source explained that Armani simply see themselves as “classier than that.”
“Armani see themselves as classier than that and think that a rising sports star may suit their current needs better.
“Armani would hate to be seen as getting PR for their brand by riding on Taylor Swift’s coat tails, so Tom will not get the job.”
This isn’t the only major contract that Tom might have missed out on because of his relationship, as The Sun revealed that the Night Manager star is also out of the running to play James Bond.
A source said: “Tom’s unlikely and very public romance with Taylor has all but ended his chances.
“He was one of the front runners but he’s slipped out of the reckoning and is now considered too high-profile.”
