Joe Swash opens up about having a hair transplant for the first time on Loose Women
The actor turned presenter said he was worried about getting work if he went bald
JOE Swash admitted he got a hair transplant because he was worried about not getting work on TV if he lost his hair.
The actor turned presenter spoke about the cosmetic procedure for the first time on Loose Women.
He said: “I had one done years ago but for myself it was something I wanted to do, it made me feel better.
“I was on the TV so that might have had something to do with it. I just thought I started ageing a little bit, I looked older than I am.
“And especially with the job that I’m doing as well, I want to try and look my best.
“I think it’s more about how you feel in yourself.”
It was reported back in 2009 that Joe, then 27, had spent £3,000 on the painstaking procedure to have his hairs transplanted from the back to the crown of his head in order to hold onto his trademark ginger locks.
When quizzed by Coleen Nolan if he was worried about losing work, he said: “I did get it done a few years ago so I was probably in a different mindset then.
“I tried to keep it a secret, I was really embarrassed about it, I didn’t want anyone to know and Wayne Rooney and James Nesbitt, they’re open about it and I think it’s amazing.”
