Trouble brewing for Corrie’s Alex Warner as he teams up with villain Pat Phelan

CORONATION Street's Alex Warner had better be careful as Pat Phelan prepares to sink in claws into his latest victim.

Liam Bairstow, who plays Alex has revealed that the pair are set to make plans together.

The actor became the first with Downs syndrome to join the soap in September last year.

Nasty Phelan could be praying on the young character's rebellious streak, which has left Kathy and Roy frustrated.

Liam opened up to : "I think Alex is going to carry on being quite naughty, but he and Phelan will be making some plans together."

He added that he was looking forward to bringing out more of "Alex's vulnerable side": "We've seen his cheeky side so far, so I'm really looking forward to that."

Before co-star Ryan Thomas left the soap, who played Jason Grimshaw, he parted with some words of wisdom to Alex: "He said that if you mess it up, just think of someone pretty in your head. But my biggest inspiration is Charli, my tutor from Mind The Gap. She's helped me a lot."
