Queen’s Jubilee concert to feature Elton John, Ed Sheeran and Stevie Wonder
LEGENDS including Sir Elton John, Ed Sheeran and Stevie Wonder are being lined up for a musical extravaganza to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next summer.
Her Diamond Jubilee in 2012 saw stars such as Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue and Madness perform during a show- stopping concert at Buckingham Palace Garden, which was organised by Gary Barlow with the BBC.
Now the corporation is planning an even bigger bash to mark the new milestone. An industry source said: “The BBC is going all out for their Party at the Palace to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
“The concert will see a range of the world’s best musicians and entertainers put on a two-and-a-half-hour show, which will be broadcast live on BBC One.
“They have got Ed Sheeran and Stevie Wonder, who appeared at the Diamond Jubilee celebration, on the top of their list of performers and the organisers have already reached out.”
Elton, whose songs include Rocket Man, has a scheduling clash because of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road world tour. But it’s hoped he will still be able to have an input.
The source added: “Whether it is something pre-recorded like he did for Party at the Palace in 2002 for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee, or if he’ll be able to appear via a live stream, they want him on board.
The plan at the moment is to have a live audience as well as A-list attendees for the event, but that is all dependent on how things are looking next year.
“Given the events of the past year and everything that has happened in the pandemic, the organisers want the Party at the Palace to be the biggest celebration of not only Her Majesty but of everything that is great about the UK.
“The BBC is making sure the acts reflect that and people can expect the best of the best when it comes to the line-up.”
The last bash at the palace to mark the Queen’s 60th year on the throne was a telly hit — with more than 16million people tuning in.
Sir Tom Jones, Annie Lennox and Sir Paul McCartney also performed at the three-hour gig, and hosts included Rob Brydon, Jimmy Carr and Lenny Henry.
Madness performing Our House on the top of Buckingham Palace will stay with me for ever. But I’m sure whatever they come up with will be just as good.
Dua is pumped up for album
DUA LIPA has had to push her Future Nostalgia tour back again, meaning it now won’t kick off for another nine months.
But she is keeping her bank account lined with big-money campaigns, just like this one for sports firm Puma.
The Levitating singer posed in Mayze platforms during a break from work on her third album.
Dua has been back in the studio with co-writers Sarah Hudson and Clarence Coffee Jr – who both wrote hits for her huge last album – and earlier this week revealed she has already got a title for her next record.
So it sounds like we won’t have to wait three years for its release, unlike with the last one.

IMAGINE DRAGONS are delving deep on their new record after frontman Dan Reynolds was left shaken by his sister-in-law’s death.
He wrote the single Wrecked, out today, after seeing his brother’s wife die following a cancer battle.
Dan said: “Her sudden passing has shaken me in ways that I still am unable to express.
“I was with her and my brother when she passed. It sealed into my mind the fragility of life and finality of this all.
“This song was my way of dealing with it, as music has always been my refuge.
“No longer being a man of fervent faith, I can only hope she hears it somewhere in a place where she is healed and no longer in pain. This song is my wish for an eternity with those who I love.”
It will feature on the band’s fifth album Mercury – Act 1, due out on September 3.
Kendall has taste of French dressing
KENDALL JENNER’s family reality show may have just ended – but she is not shrinking away from the spotlight.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star walked the runway in Paris for clothing brand Jacquemus, modelling items from its autumn 2021 ready-to-wear range.
Even shameless Love Island contestants won’t be able to get away with strutting around with this much of their body out by the time the temperatures plummet again later in the year, though.
Kendall, pictured here all in red and with fluffy slippers, took to the catwalk with pal Bella Hadid on Wednesday after jetting into the French capital from Los Angeles.
It follows two holidays in Mexico already this year. My, how the other half live.
Maisie uses her Ed on new song
MAISIE PETERS has revealed her new label boss Ed Sheeran helped write her latest song Psycho in just 30 minutes.
The singer, who signed to Ed’s Gingerbread Man Records last month, wasted no time recruiting him to help out.
In an exclusive chat to celebrate the release of the single today, Maisie said: “With Psycho, I was talking with Ed before the session and I sent across this idea.
“When we went in, we lasered in on this idea and it was finished really quickly. The whole thing was fully done, apart from the last middle eight about all of your exes, in half an hour. We’re a very speedy team.”
Maisie, pictured with a cake to mark the track’s release, is now gearing up for the release of her debut album, You Signed Up For This, on August 27.
But the ambitious rising star is already working on the follow-up.
Maisie, who will next play live at Latitude Festival on July 23, added: “I have started working on number two. My management is probably telling me to stop but I am always writing.
“I have a song or two that I think are a contender for it.”
Miley's £1.6m pad profit
IF her music career dries up, Miley Cyrus could clearly turn to property developing.
She has made £1.6million profit from selling a six-bed, six-bathroom mansion in California’s Hidden Hills for £5.2million. She paid £3.6million for it last July.
She was hands on with the refit – while releasing hit album, Plastic Hearts. And she is already working on her next record.
Miley is a talented lady.
Jack gets savvy
JACK SAVORETTI has done all he can to knock Olivia Rodrigo off the top spot today – including banning his daughter from listening to her hit album.
His record Europiana was 8,000 sales ahead of the US singer’s debut Sour in the last count, with Jack hoping he can now end her three-week reign at No1.
In an exclusive interview, he said: “I am super-familiar with Olivia’s album as my daughter has had it on repeat for the past week.
“She has been banned from listening to it this week.
“That’s the thing, my daughter and her friends will listen to one song 20 times – over the space of like two hours – because they are learning the song or they are learning a dance routine.
“That is why the numbers are crazy. No one is learning dance routines to my songs yet . . . that might help my streaming numbers. It seems the only way to get the numbers these days is by having dance routines.”

RICHARD MADDEN has landed a lucrative gig as the face of Calvin Klein’s new fragrance Defy.
The Bodyguard actor is bound to have been paid a fortune for the tie-in, especially with his big-budget superhero film Eternals coming this November.
He is now shooting Citadel, another action-packed spy series for Amazon Prime Video.
But will Jack’s fans ever see him getting in on the trend by creating a song for TikTok? Absolutely not, he says.
Jack, whose last album, 2019’s Singing To Strangers, also went straight to No1, added: “I don’t think it is an age thing, it is a dignity thing.
“I don’t think even when I was a teenager I would want to do that. It is a different generation.”
Despite looking likely to clinch his second UK No1 album, Jack admitted that he was scared to tempt fate.
He added: “I am Italian and superstitious. I can’t talk about it, but I will say we are having an amazing week.”
Madison's 'cheat' lyrics
FANS reckon Madison Beer has accused her ex-boyfriend of cheating on her with Kylie Jenner on new single Reckless.
Montages have gone viral on TikTok showing footage of both women with wannabe DJ Zack Bia alongside lyrics from the song suggesting that the singer had been two-timed.

The couple dated on and off for almost two years, and in January 2020 Zack was linked to Kylie.

On the track, Madison, sings: “Each day goes by and each night I cry. Somebody saw you with her last night. You gave me your word, ‘Don’t worry bout her’. You might love her now, but you loved me first.
“Said you’d never hurt me, but here we are. Oh, you swore on every star. How could you be so reckless with my heart?” Ouch.
Sarah misses reuninon
SARAH HARDING, who is battling cancer, was forced to miss a Girls Aloud reunion for her bandmate Cheryl’s birthday.
The Call My Name singer was joined by Kimberley Walsh, Nicola Roberts and Nadine Coyle to celebrate turning 38 on Wednesday.
But social media posts showed, Sarah was sadly absent. She was diagnosed with breast cancer last summer and was devastatingly given a terminal diagnosis.
But she has been fighting it for several months and released her autobiography, Hear Me Out, which talks about her treatment.
The band members had grown apart after splitting in 2013 but were hoping to reunite next year to mark 20 years since their launch.
