GOGGLEBOX has paid a touching tribute to its narrator Caroline Aherne, who lost her battle to throat cancer last month.
The comedian was the narrator of the hit show and tonight’s episode was dedicated to her memory.
This evening’s Brexit special of the Channel 4 show, concluded with a touching message for the Mrs Merton star who died aged just 52.
It read: ““In loving memory of Caroline Aherne” and was followed by the Oasis song Half The World Away which was always played at the end of her show The Royle Family.
Fans instantly took to Twitter to pay their respect for the star, and to also praise Gogglebox for its “beautiful tribute.”
One fan said: “Loved #Gogglebox tonight, sadly reminded of how much we've lost this year #CarolineAherne”
Another said: “Lovely tribute to @CarolineAherne. Sweet dreams, Caroline! Craig Cash a great choice as her replacement #Gogglebox”
While this person tweeted: “*sob* *sob* The end of #Gogglebox remembered Caroline Aherne with Oasis' "Half the world away" - nice touch.

The actress co-voiced Gogglebox with her former co-star Craig Cash.
It's the first time the programme has been broadcast since her death on July 2.
Caroline lent her voice to the series since its launch in 2013, including throughout her treatment for lung cancer.
Close friends and family gathered to say goodbye to actress at a secret ceremony in Manchester last month.
TV producer Jeff Pope tweeted: “The funeral today of one of our greatest working class heroes. The world is a poorer place for the loss of the incomparable Caroline Aherne”.
A source close to Caroline’s family confirmed to the Daily Mirror that the funeral had taken place in Greater Manchester.
Meanwhile, brave Caroline’s brother has talked of his heartbreak in losing his sister to cancer.
Patrick Aherne, said he had seen the Gogglebox star just before she died, and had a “last conversation” with her.
It’s reported the comedian remained upbeat despite knowing her illness was terminal.
Speaking to the The Mirror from his Cheshire home he said: “Caroline is everything to us.
“You can imagine how we are feeling.
“Yes I saw Caroline recently and had a last conversation with her.”
