Rylan Clark-Neal makes rare return to social media to celebrate his nephew’s 21st birthday
RYLAN Clark-Neal has returned to social media for the first time since his marriage split.
The telly and radio favourite, 32, celebrated his nephew’s 21st birthday after revealing he’s separated from his husband Dan.
Sharing a snap of them together as well as a boozy birthday cake, Rylan wrote on Instagram: “Happy 21st birthday weekend, Harvey. Can’t believe my little nephew is not so little anymore!”
It’s the first time Rylan has spoken out since thanking fans for their support following the breakdown of his six-year marriage.
The Sun revealed Rylan has taken a break from his Radio 2 show and stepped away from hosting Eurovision in the wake of the decision to split from Dan.
Rylan said: “I have made a number of mistakes which I deeply regret and have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage.
“I have taken time away from work as I am not in a good place at the moment and am seeking help.
“I am trying to take each day at a time and would like to thank you to everyone for their support and for respecting our privacy at this time.”
Sources insist he will be back on air soon.
The Big Brother star later added: “I just wanted to write a message to thank you all for the love and kindness you have shown us.
“We are currently prioritising our mental health and looking after the ones around us we love the most.
“I am working towards getting back to the jobs I love in due course. Thank you for being patient with me X”.
Rylan first found fame as a contestant on The X Factor in 2012. He then became one of Britain’s most recognisable TV faces after winning Celebrity Big Brother in 2013.
The same year he met ex-Met Police detective Dan, who it is understood has moved out of their home to a rented flat in Essex.
Rylan interviewed him on Big Brother spin-off Big Brother’s Bit on the Side after contestant Dan was evicted.
A source told The Sun: “Rylan’s one of the most beloved people on TV so fans will be sad to hear what has happened.
“He often spoke of their relationship on air and they even co-hosted an episode of This Morning but unfortunately things haven’t worked out.
“They don’t want to discuss it in public and a bit of time off is probably for the best for now.
“It’s one of those things. All those close to them wish them all the best.”
Rylan has hosted on This Morning, Ready Steady Cook, Supermarket Sweep and Strictly spin-off It Takes Two — alongside a string of other screen appearances.
