Coronation Street’s Peter Ash reveals he’s been forced to take a week off filming and is isolating after Covid alert
CORONATION Street star Peter Ash has revealed he's been forced to take a week off filming the soap after receiving a coronavirus alert.
The actor, who plays Paul Foreman, tweeted that he and his son will remain at home to isolate over the coming days.
He wrote: "Having to isolate at home with my son. He's pretty gutted he's missing his last week in school (as am I!) but we're having some quality Father-Son time. Many lego projects and games planned!"
The 36-year-old reassured his fans they were both feeling fine after they sent him their well wishes.
He even gave a glimpse at one of the pair's Lego projects - an Iron Man art set.
Instant impact
Peter's character Paul first appeared on the soap in May 2018 as David Platt’s cellmate at Highfield Prison.
David had been held on remand after attacking Gary Windass and skipping his plea hearing.
The pair got off on the wrong foot when David – who was traumatised after being raped by Josh Tucker – insisted he didn’t want a cellmate.

He ended up slamming Paul up against a wall when he tried to wake him up and inadvertently caused David to have a flashback of the sexual assault.
However, they gradually forged a friendship and Paul took it upon himself to get revenge on rapist Josh for David.
Following his release from prison, Paul arrived at David’s house before trying to look for work around Weatherfield.
With the help of vicar Billy Mayhew, Paul managed to land a job at Carla Connor’s factory – much to the dismay of his sister Gemma Winter – who tried to get him sacked before he’d even started.
Fans quickly took to the ex-con and in 2020 he won Best Newcomer at the National Television Awards.
