Celebrity Big Brother fans’ outrage as Ofcom receive 86 complaints over Christopher Biggins’ removal from house as celebs offer support
Watchdog received 213 complaints this weekend - and almost none of them were to do with what Biggins said
CELEBRITY Big Brother has not been short of controversy - but the eviction of Christopher Biggins is what has angered viewers most.
Watchdog Ofcom received a staggering 213 complaints across the weekend alone after the actions of the contestants reached a scandalous peak.
Biggins was removed from the house on Friday night following a comment by him stating that "AIDS was a bisexual disease", which followed on from a comment about Nazi's made to Jewish housemate Katie Waissel, and another comment referring to bisexuality as 'the worst' to Mob Wives star Renee Graziano.
He said: “I wouldn’t say overnight but then a killer disease came, which was attributed to homosexuals.
“I think it was a bisexual disease.”
But viewers were compelled to reach out in his defence with 86 complaints being filed about his removal, especially given the behaviour of some of the other housemates.
It was the highest number of complaints on a single issue related to the show brought up across the weekend.
Celebrities and fans alike have come out in their droves to support the star, including Alison Moyet, comedian Ricky Gervais and former Big Brother housemate Josie Gibson.
Taking to Twitter, singer Alison wrote: "Haven't watched #CBB this time but Biggins gone cos he may cause offence? What's s****ing & up the Hooha wi'a bottle then when it's at home?"
It referenced series six of Big Brother where housemate Kinga received no fallout following a stunt that appeared to show her pleasuring herself with a wine bottle.

Josie, 31, who won the eleventh series of Big Brother in 2010, tweeted that Biggins probably didn't mean to be offensive at all.
She wrote: "@onebiggins is such a lovely lovely man. He makes time for everyone and lights up a room. He wouldn't of meant any harm."
Ricky Gervais also waded into the debate to defend the star, and wrote on Twitter: “Why put a warning on Big Brother saying some viewers may find it offensive & then evict someone for saying something that may be offensive?
“Does anyone know what Biggins actually said?”
He then added: "If people are removed for saying things that viewers could find offensive, surely the Big Brother house should be empty now."
After scenes of his removal were aired, Twitter erupted in fury over the 67-year-old being given the boot.
One wrote: "I can totally understand the reasons to remove #BBBiggins but get a grip, there are worse actions in that house that need dealing with #cbb"
Fans also wrote on Twitter their support for Biggins after he was a no show on This Morning earlier today.
However, some fans back producers' decision to oust him, insisting any anti-Semitic comments require urgent action.
The second most complained about issue was last night's scenes that saw Lewis Bloor and Marnie Simpson 'bully' Heavy D in a row over the pair stashing alcohol - which pales in comparison with 22 complaints.
The violent behaviour of loose cannon Stephen Bear earned 21 complaints, with general bullying throughout the house getting a further 18 complaints.
Other scenes that raised concern amongst fans including Aubrey O'Day and Bear's saliva swapping antics disgusting viewers.
Aubrey spitting in Bear's mouth garnered 14 complaints and the incident where she spat in his food and watched him eat it got a further 12 complaints on top of what it had already received the week before.
