‘I’ve dodged a few bullets!’ Kelly Brook celebrates being child-free and single at the age of 36
The actress opened up about a string of disastrous relationships
KELLY Brook has revealed that she considers it a good thing that she is 36 and not married or a mum as it meant she has dodged a few bullets.
The actress was a guest on Good Morning Britain today to talk about her new quiz show but the subject inevitably turned to her relationship history.
Kelly has had a number of high profile relationships since her 20s but has yet to settle down, something she said she is grateful for.
Speaking to presenters Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins, she said: “I see it as a success that I'm 36 and I'm still not married with children because I think I've kind of dodged so many bullets.
“I don't think I was ever ready to settle down, my life has been so chaotic, I've been working in television since I was 18 and I travel a lot to America. I'm back and forth all the time, my feet were never really on the ground, so I was kind of trying to fit in relationships and dating while managing a career which is really difficult to do.
“So I never really had a lot of time for men, even though it would seem that's all my life was about, the reality is I spent most of my life on a film set in the middle of nowhere or in LA doing something.”
Kelly has been engaged three times - to actors Billy Zane and Jason Statham and former Gladiator David McIntosh.
Kelly has now relocated back to the UK and for the last two years has been dating Frenchman Jeremy Parisi – but she’s not sure if he is ‘The One’.
She added: “I don't know if it's him or if it's just me, I think it's more to do with me, I've just kind of grown up a bit. I'm just enjoying being home.
She also told her hosts how she met the model and actor and explained: “I was living in LA, I was training doing some martial arts training to keep fit and my friend and I saw a video of him and I thought he looks nice and we became friends and Skyped each other for six months, he was in France, I was in LA and then you know we eventually got together and it became romantic, but he's lovely.”
And she said she is happy to be back home and added: “I was out in Los Angeles doing a show called ‘One Big Happy’...it was fantastic I loved it, but it got cancelled as these things do, everything kind of comes to an end with me!
“Yeah I came home and I just love being home to be honest, I've got a little country cottage and I just love being home, pottering around.”
