‘I’m a selfie addict!’ Joey Essex has QUIT taking selfies after addiction was ‘taking over his life’

The TOWIE star remembers little about holidays and nights out because of them

HE is the King of the Selfie and never misses an opportunity to take one – but Joey Essex has finally had enough and is giving them up.

The TOWIE star, who has taken hundreds, if not thousands of selfies since the term was coined, said he is fed up of not being able remember places he has visited.

He said he looks back on all the many places he has travelled but all his photos are of him and none of what good times he had.

And he added that he took so many of his face that all his photos looked the same no matter where he was in the world.

So the 26-year-old has vowed to put down the selfie stick and not use his front facing camera for at least a month.

He said: “I'm a selfie addict.

“In the last few years or so, I’ve been lucky enough to travel the world. I’ve been to Italy, I’ve been to France, and I’ve even been to Australia

“The holiday selfie is dead guys.”

The reality star has teamed up with mobile phone company Three and its campaign to encourage people to swap the selfie for pictures of landscapes and friends – dubbed the “Frontie”.

He has vowed to put down his camera phone and see more of the sights around himCredit: Three UK

And he said dumping the selfies would be him making a “momentous sacrifice” which will last at least a month and may be a lifetime.

Joey has recently been linked to fellow reality TV star, Made in Chelsea’s Stephanie Pratt.

The pair have been seen out and about together at clubs and restaurants and were even snapped doing on their favourite pastimes in London last week – shopping.
