GBBO’s Paul Hollywood hints he’s set to take over Chris Evans as new host of Top Gear
The Great British Bake Off judge looks set to jump in the Top Gear driving seat
HE’S previously given a red light to rumours he’s set to rally his way into the Top Gear driving seat, but it looks like Paul Hollywood may have had a change of heart.
Hinting he’s back in the race to potentially replace presenter Chris Evans, who sensationally quit after just one series, Paul shared his exciting plans with Now.
When asked what the future holds for the star away from the Great British Bake Off tent, he remained coy on the subject.
Paul told the publication: “I’m going to be doing more car programmes.”
Mary Berry added: “I love doing shows that aren’t to do with baking.
“Paul has his cars and city breaks, but I’m not interested in travel.”
Paul is no stranger to life in the fast lane.
In 2015, the celebrity chef launched his motor racing career at Silverstone, racing Andre Howard in a Beechdean AMR Aston Martin Vantage GT4.

Alongside that, Paul starred in an hour long programme about the history of Aston Martin for BBC Two.
Discussing the documentary, he revealed: “I got to drive some of the most iconic Aston Martins around the world.
"I ended up driving some of the best cars they’ve ever produced.”
Last year, before Chris’s debut episode had aired, Paul revealed he had high hopes for the presenter.
The GBBO judge was so certain Chris would be a hit he featured in episode five of the show with Jennifer Saunders.
He said: “I think Chris will do a good job with Top Gear.”
When asked if he’d ever get involved, at the time he added: “never.”
