"She lives in Canada, which is a double edged sword. She’s great I really love her."

Jonathan met Michelle last year via a web chat service and their relationship has gone from strength to strength.

The joy which comes from his relationship and his burgeoning career is in stark contrast to his school days, when he was bullied relentlessly.

"I had just transferred schools for sixth form, I had a scholarship for music at a private school but it wasn’t for me in the end as it turned out, and I had a tough time dealing with it.

"For me it was particularly weird because I felt what did I have to lose, if I’m already at the very bottom where am I going to go?

"Sometimes it can be totally down to you to try things and get out of your comfort zone and break those boundaries that you set yourself.

"It was remarkable for me, the reaction from people I never could have ever expected that."
