Team GB presenter Charlie Webster’s coma recovery hailed as ‘miracle’ by doctors
STRICKEN Charlie Webster’s recovery has been hailed as a “miracle” by her doctors.
Charlie, 33, who has worked for Sky and ITV, was struck down with malaria after watching the Olympic opening ceremony and fell into a coma.
But while she remains in intensive care, her doctors are said to be “very happy with her neurological results”
On Saturday, her mum Joy spoke of their amazement at her recovery.
She said: “The doctors have said to me that it is a miracle. We have been told that she has a strong mind and body, and that has been key to her recovery.”

She went on: “Charlotte was devastated about the date when she woke up and how long she had been asleep.

“When she saw the Olympics on the telly she said: ‘I should have been there’. She’s now very conscious of how ill she was and focusing on getting better.
“It’s very tiring for her to speak so it’s important to keep her as in a relaxed atmosphere as possible”.
“Team GB have been fantastic as have everyone here in Rio and at home.
The British Consulate in Brazil we can’t thank enough, and the medical care has been exceptional and the staff so friendly. It’s means so much to all of us, including Charlotte.”
