Brave John Newman performs at V Festival after revealing his brain tumour has returned

JOHN Newman put on an energetic performance at the V Festival today just weeks after he revealed that his brain tumour had returned.
The singer looked fantastic and on good form as he took to the stage at Hylands Park in Chelmsford, Essex.
Wearing a black suit with a white bamboo print, the 26-year-old jumped around the stage as he threw himself into his set.
He was given a rapturous welcome by the crowd as he performed some of his smash hits including Love Me Again and Cheating.
“Best 21st bday a girl could ask for! (besides not meeting him in person) BTW the new song was beautiful and very well written & your performance was spot on! Those dance moves too! I really hope to see you in the US soon! “
Earlier this month, The Sun revealed he was battling a brain tumour for the second time after he had a tumour the size of an egg removed through his nose in 2012.
Doctors told him they have also found cancerous cells on the growth that will require surgery and radiotherapy next year.
Speaking to the Sun, John said: “This was going to come out at some point and it’s probably best it’s out in the open now.
“I have been monitored constantly since the first time I had the tumour removed.
There was always a chance that it could return and it is unfortunate, but it is something I am prepared to get through when the time is right, some point next year.”
He went on to thank medical staff who have been looking after him before reassuring worried fans he was in good hands.
“People shouldn’t worry about me, the prognosis is good and there are so many people in far more serious situations.
“I just hope this in some way helps raise awareness for those people and encourages people to be tested and treated as early as possible. I am one of the lucky ones!”
