Danny Dyer beaten up in front of daughter by Mark Wright’s mates in vicious brawl at V Festival
EastEnders star's fiance talks about fight that left hubby-to-be Danny with a black eye
EASTENDERS star Danny Dyer was jumped in a five-on-one punch-up against friends of his arch rival Mark Wright at V Festival, leaving him with a black eye.
The dramatic backstage beat-up all took place in front of Danny's sobbing 20-year-old daughter while the actor hard man - celebrating his stag do - was wearing a Phantom of the Opera mask.
Mark later called the hard man a "c***" but sources close to Michelle Keegan's husband insist he was not involved in any physical violence and tried to stop his friends from causing further injury to Danny.
But last night Danny's furious fiancé Joanne Mas told me in an exclusive interview: "Mark called him a c*** and was egging on his bunch of idiot friends all day.
"There were five guys against one and Danny still went for them, but the most f**king disgusting thing is it was all in front of my 20-year-old daughter.
"They're a bunch of talentless Essex t****."
And an onlooker revealed: "It was complete carnage - Mark's gang of friends just went for Danny who was fighting back.
"His daughter watched the whole thing which turned backstage at V into some sort of war zone."
Josh Wright, Mark's pro-footballer brother, made the allegation, and said to Danny: “Malcom you must still be hurting from when Mark gave you a slap in the changing room that day,” then added: “get over it you melt”.
He was responding to a message posted by Danny alluding to Mark by mentioning his radio station and the yogurt brand he is now endorsing, writing: “My worst nightmare would be listening to Heart FM while eating Oykos yogurt. It would be like p****** razor blades.”
Danny responded: “At a charity football match 4 Terminally ill children then run behind his dad. What a geezer. My bird hits harder.”
“Not sure it happened like that mate you ran your mouth as always and pushed him into corner so he protected himself by slapping you,” responded Josh.
The EastEnders actor later commented on the spat, saying: “Hardly a dig. The fact I suffered it was there was kids waiting outside with months to live. He’s a disgrace.
“We all know what happened. He took a bang liberty. End of. He aint a bit of me. Crack on.”
Danny was at the festival along with his wife-to-be, daughter Dani and a group of friends ahead of his wedding next month.
One onlooker said: "Everyone had been drinking all day and it all kicked off from about 8.30pm.
"Tensions were high for an hour and Danny had been gunning for Mark and his friends.
"A scuffle broke out at about 9.45pm when Mark had left his friends to go to the toilet and one of Danny's friends called Mark a c***.
"Danny got a couple of punches away before he ended up on the ground and people dragged them apart.
"They ended up forcing him to the ground at one point.
"He had to protect himself in a ball at one point because Mark's mates were booting him on the ground.
"One of Danny's friends were trying to pull them off him. Dani was watching it all sobbing.
"Other people nearby were all pushed aside as security barged through, it was intense and people looked frightened.
"One of Danny's female friends ended up being punched in the fallout of it all.
"When Mark came back he watched for a bit and then stepped in to try and sort it out.
"They spoke about their fallout and both shook hands.
"Mark was raging after it and pulled his hat right down to cover his face.
"Danny left the area after security had a word."
Last night a source close to Mark insisted that Danny was to blame after trying to rile his friends.
The source said: "Mark wasn't there when the violence really kicked off.
"He then saw Danny later and went over to him and said no need for any of that with my mates and shook Danny's hand."
Tensions continued for the rest of the night, with drunk Mark even being confronted by Jo.
A festival source said: "Danny went back to his tent afterwards but Mark was ranting about the incident all night, even having another confrontation with Jo.
She was joined by fellow ex-Towie star Kirk Norcross, who was also celebrating on Danny's stag do, when she approached Mark and his friends at the same bar to settle the row.
But things went from bad to worse as they clashed once again and Kirk had to be restrained after squaring up to one of Mark's friends.
A source said: "Jo went up to Mark to try and settle things but she was with Kirk who had been drinking all afternoon and started mouthing off.
"Mark and Kirk have never seen eye to eye and he was furious about how he'd been goading Danny.
"Jo's attempts to diffuse the situation failed and she ended up having to drag Kirk away and leave the situation unresolved."
Kirk later claimed he hadn't seen Mark all day.
Yesterday Jo hit back at Mark, 29, by insisting he is talentless - and threatened to continue the row even though she had sent husband Danny home.
She said: "The thing about that f***ing Towie lot is that they're all f**king divs and they've got no f***ing talent, and I want that on the record.
"Thing is I've got a talent. I work in accounts. I'm not just here at the V Festival.
"I'm looking for them now and I'm going to put them in their place - what they did and how they acted is complete crap.
"They've been going at each other for ages and it all kicked off on Twitter this week. I think I'm going to have to get Danny off Twitter after all of this."
After the scuffle Mark continued drinking at the exclusive Mahiki bar backstage and was seen stumbling out just after midnight with a female friend and a group of other mates.
But the inebriated star continued to wreak havoc across the festival site in Hylands Park.
As well as pushing over a security barrier, he and his gang of eight friends jumped on punters tents as they slept inside.
A separate source said: "Mark got his friends to film as he leapt onto the tents while guests were asleep inside.
"At one point the whole group had to flee when angry campers chased them and threatened to fight them. But it was all a big joke to Mark and his friends."
The drunk reality star ended the night by eating a burger on his own in the middle of a field before leaving the site just after 1am, as our exclusive picture shows.
This might just be the biggest V bust-up ever - and that's saying something.
