WINTER IS COMING… TO CHESTER: Game of Thrones star Clive Russell lands Hollyoaks role
Russell starred as the Blackfish and will join the soap as Jack Osborne’s ex-con brother
GAME Of Thrones star Clive Russell has joined Hollyoaks as Jack Osborne’s ex-con brother.
Russell, 70, is best known in recent years for his role in the HBO fantasy drama as Ser Brynden Tully, or the Blackfish.
He will join Hollyoaks next month as Billy Brody, father of Jack’s niece Eva Falco and is set to rock the Osborne family as he reveals a deadly secret to his daughter.
And he said he’d been having a great time on set as he threw himself into his new role and loved working with Jimmy McKenna who plays Jack.
He said: “I have had some great days filming with Hollyoaks.
"Working with the legend that is La McKenna was also a delight. He is a wonderful actor and man. Along with Kerry Bennett – my on-screen daughter – I just had a ball!"
Clive appeared as the Blackfish in two series of Game of Thrones and was one of the few characters to escape unscathed from the deadly Red Wedding.
His character was killed off during the last series after he refused to surrender Riverun, his family home, to Jamie Lannister, and met his fate at the hands of the Kingslayer.

Clive has also appeared in Ripper Street, Coronation Street, Waterloo Road and Tyr in the Thor movies.
And while he has gone from Game of Thrones to Hollyoaks, his co-star Nathalie Emmanuel did the reverse.
Nathalie, 27, starred as Sasha Valentine in the soap from 2006 to 2010 and had a couple of bit parts in Casualty and Misfits before landing the role of Missandei in Game of Thrones.
