Fame-hungry sisters who flunked X Factor confront absent mum on Jeremy Kyle – but she just wants her Man U scarf back
TALENT show rejects battle it our with mum who walked out on them without leaving a note
A FAME-HUNGRY girl who failed on the X Factor and a weight loss show went on Jeremy Kyle to confront the mum who walked out on them without a word.
But host Jezza was stunned when the absent mum just asked for a FOOTBALL SCARF back.
Emma Chawner first appeared on The X Factor in 2007 , and when she was rejected the rest of the family – mum Audrey, dad Philip and sister Sam – stormed on to give the judging panel a piece of their mind.
She later returned with Sam, when they were dubbed the ‘Teletubbies’.
The family – who allegedly claimed £350,000 in benefits over 18 years – then appeared on Lorraine Kelly’s Big Fat Challenge, in 2009, when they weighed 91 stone between them.
Even Jeremy pointed out that they were a recognisable bunch, saying: "To be fair you and your family have been on a variety of shows, why the hell are you here?"
Emma claimed her mum – who had walked out after 30 years of marriage – had been abusive, had treated their father like slaves and had pinched and hit her daughters.
She revealed how they had logged her as a missing person when she vanished from the family home.
She said: “She walked. She didn’t leave a letter or anything. We came back and she’d gone.
“I was scared, I was crying, we didn’t know where she was or what had happened to her.”
She added: “The police checked our house and her loft to see if we’d murdered her.”
But Audrey denied being abusive to the girls and said that she was beaten by them.
She claimed: “You smashed the eggs on my face, you slapped me.”
Even so, she admitted she regretted leaving and wanted to come home.
But husband Philip refused, saying: “I don’t want you back because of what you’ve done.”
Emma added: “She’s not welcome.”
Audrey stunned the family by claiming she wanted to come back because of her pets, saying “I miss the animals.”
But when they refused, she turned to her weeping daughter and said: “One thing I’m going to ask you. I want my Man United scarf back. It was a present last Christmas.”
A shocked Jeremy asked her to repeat herself and she said: "I said I would like my Man United scarf back because it was a present for Christmas and Emma said she burned it."
Stunned, he concluded: “In front of me are four people. A thirty year marriage ruined. A woman who walked out on her kids. Then she utters the immortal ‘I do want to come back, but if I can’t I want my Man United scarf back.’”
