Dev Patel tugs on our heartstrings in new Lion trailer that tells the unbelievable story of lost boy Saroo Brierley

THE former Skins actor stars alongside Nicole Kidman in the new movie

FINDING your identity is never easy, especially when you misplace your parents at five years old and have to start again entirely from scratch.

That’s exactly what happened to Saroo Brierley thirty years ago, when he fell asleep on a train and ended up thousands of miles from home in Calcutta.

His story hit headlines back in 2012 and now, his story his been made into the unmissable movie Lion, starring the fantastic Dev Patel, Nicole Kidman and David Wenham.

Judging from the new trailer, it won’t disappoint.

Based on Brierley’s memoir A Long Way Home, the film brings his unbelievable story to life.

Last clapping eyes on his parents in the bustling Indian village where he grew up, the young Saroo is at the mercy of the people he encounters and luckily Australian couple (played by Kidman and Wenham) are good guys.

They take him home with them to the Australian outback and adopt him, giving him a life he never expected to have.

But of course, in this unnatural environment there is always the longing to be reunited with his biological parents.

In one particularly emotional scene, Saroo laments, “I had another family - a mother, a brother. Every day my real brother screams my name.”

He spends hours scouring Google Earth, looking for clues about the place where he was born, his roots and of course, his long lost family.

Becoming re-united with his birth parents seems impossible, but with a steely determination, he’s convinced he will track them down.
