Strictly Come Dancing stars Giovanni Pernice and Georgia May Foote split
Couple got together after being partnered on the BBC1 hit show
GEORGIA May Foote has announced that she has split from her Strictly Come Dancing beau, Giovanni Pernice.
In a sweet statement released on her Twitter, former Corrie star Georgia said that the pair split amicably and wish each other well in the future.
She wrote: "It is with great sadness we have decided to split up. There is nobody else involved.
"Although it was not an easy decision to make sometimes you realise that it is better to be friends and this is one of those times.
"We both have very busy work schedules for the rest of the year so we are both going to focus on our upcoming work projects and we wish each other well in the future."
She also thanked her fans for the support she received regarding her relationship during and after the series and added: "I love you all very much."
Later, she added: "Nothing i ever said about my feelings to gio were fake before people start. I still love him very very much. But things change. Please be respectful to me at this time by not saying awful things. This is a hard time for me."
Only two days ago she posted a picture on her Instagram calling him "her favourite human being".

Georgia and Giovanni were finalists in last years series of Strictly, and started their relationship after being paired up for the show and live together in London.
The couple appeared smitten with each other and even fuelled rumours of an engagement after she was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her finger.
However, they later quashed the rumours but insisted they were 'very happy together'.
She told Fabulous magazine: "He was such a good friend and was there when I needed him… It just developed after all that.
"Suddenly I realised: 'Oh god, this is weird!' It was a shock to me!"
Giovanni, one of the show's professional dancers, will be returning for the newest season set to start next Saturday on BBC1.
Meanwhile, Georgia will be taking over from Pixie Lott in the role of Holly Golightly in the touring stage adaptation of Breakfast at Tiffany's - starting from 19 September in Milton Keynes.
He retweeted Georgia's statement but is yet to make any further comment.
