Fans of the show share their pain after tear-jerking phone-in

THIS Morning viewers were left in tears today when a devastated caller broke down while talking about the loss of her beloved dog.

Hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford attempted to comfort the heartbroken woman as she cried down the phone during the show today.

The heart-breaking segment featured a dog psychic who attempted to help Karen deal with the loss of her pet, Molly.

Karen couldn't stop crying as she described how losing her dog has changed her life, revealing she was so overwhelmed with grief, she ended up in hospital.

She said: "I'm not coping very well... I ended up in hospital. they just put it down to heartache and stress...

"I haven't seen my friend and her dog in months because we used to go to the local park and I just can't bring myself to do it yet."

Many viewers found the phone-in upsetting and they took to Twitter to reveal Karen's call left them in tears.

One viewer tweeted: "Cant cope with this dog situation on #ThisMorning im in tears! Only lost mine 6 weeks ago... such sad stories..."

Another revealed she had to change channel because she was so upset, writing: "Urgh someone tell me when the sad pet talk is over, talk about humans dying and I'm fine but as soon as it's an animal I'm ill [crying] #thismorning..."

Another viewer wrote: "@itvthismorning Karen's story pulled my heartstrings we lost our lab 5 months ago and we haven't even begun to deal with it #thismorning..."

The segment came after writer/broadcaster Bel Mooney made an appearance on the show to describe a ghostly visit from her dead dog.

Bel told hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford about a spooky experience in which her dog Bonnie spoke to her from beyond the grave.

However, the story did not go down well with many viewers, who took to Twitter to mock the author.

One troll wrote: “#ThisMorning she is literally barking mad,” and another added: “This woman is nuts. She sounds as though she’s reading from a story book #thismorning.”

Another nasty viewers declared Bel is a “NUTTER” and another called her one “sandwich short of a picnic” and “bonkers”.
