New EastEnders fan theory predicts Grant Mitchell will DIE – and save brother Phil with deathbed liver transplant
Ross Kemp's sensitive hardman makes ANOTHER return to the Square... but is his destiny to save his alcoholic brother's life?
EASTENDERS fans have hatched a new theory about Grant Mitchell's return to Albert Square - and it doesn't have a happy ending.
The bald thug will be back in Walford in just a few days, where he will have to bury the hatchet with brother Phil and help him rescue his kidnapped son.
But according to one theory, it's Phil's "redemption" that leads to Grant's demise.
Fans think that clues about Grant's fate lie in a new teaser trailer released by the BBC soap.
Phil, at the start armed and ready for battle with the homophobic gang who kill son Ben's boyfriend Paul Coker, lies on the ground, bloodied and weak.
The mechanic has cirrhosis of the liver brought on from years of alcohol abuse, and furthered by a recent relapse after being locked in a room with a bottle of scotch by his ex-wife Kathy's evil third husband Gavin Sullivan.
They write: "Phil needs a transplant and I had always assumed it would have come from Paul but now that is unlikely I believe it very well could come from Grant.
"Could the BBC kill off the EastEnders most popular character? It’s not as far fetched as it sounds. They’ve done it before with Den Watts whose popularity is only now dwarfed by Grant’s."
Adding fuel to the fire is Grant actor Ross Kemp recently hinting that his character's return to Walford is his "swansong".
