But the pressure of juggling motherhood with two jobs has forced her to bow out.

A source said: “Claudia has decided it’s time to focus her energy on her three young kids and her Strictly job.

"She is really keen to spend more time with Matilda, Jake and Arthur but the stress of juggling two jobs has made this increasingly difficult.

Claudia said: “I’m sad about leaving and it wasn’t an easy decision. The show simply deserves someone who can give it their all.”

A source added: “The BBC are gutted to see Claudia leave Film. With her quick wit she has quickly become a fan favourite.”

Claudia landed the role after impressing bosses with her arts reviews on her Radio 2 show, where she often discusses films.

She beat high-profile names including Mark Kermode and Mariella Frostrup to the job.
