'Fairytales Aren't Real'

Heartbroken Georgia May Foote posts cryptic message as ex Giovanni Pernice gets ready to tango with new beauty on Strictly Come Dancing

STRICTLY Come Dancing’s Georgia May Foote appears to have lashed out at ex Giovanni Pernice in a thinly veiled Instagram post.

The snap, which shows Georgia asleep on a sofa in a knitted fin-shaped blanket, was accompanied by the heartbreaking sentiment: “Fairytales aren’t real. Even if someone makes you think they are for a moment.”

Georgia’s heartbreaking post saw her cuddled up on the sofa as she announced “fairytales aren’t real”

Georgia, who originally found fame on Coronation Street, was paired up with professional dancer Giovanni in last year’s competition, placing runner up after a series of dances including a beautiful foxtrot as Disney characters Beauty and the Beast.

At the time she was dating her co-star Sean Ward, but they split up shortly after the end of her stint on the BBC dancing show – only for her to pair up with Giovanni in real life shortly after.

However, the couple called time on their relationship in a public statement released on their Twitter pages last week, citing their busy work schedules as the reason behind it.

The note read: “It is with great sadness we have decided to split up. There is nobody else involved.

“Although it was not an easy decision to make sometimes you realise that it is better to be friends and this is one of those times.

“We both have very busy work schedules for the rest of the year so we are both going to focus on our upcoming work projects and we wish each other well in the future.”

Later, she added: “Nothing i ever said about my feelings to gio were fake before people start. I still love him very very much. But things change. Please be respectful to me at this time by not saying awful things. This is a hard time for me.”

The couple regularly gushed about each other online – with Georgia calling Gio ‘her favourite human’ just two days before their split

Georgia had gushed about their relationship only two days before, with another post seeing them cuddled up in the back of a car as she referred to him as “her favourite human being”.

However, the sad snap appears to show the devastated star finding it hard to come to terms with the split from her other half, after it was revealed she had fears that BBC bosses were trying to set him up with her pal Laura Whitmore.

But the girls for the time being appear to be on good terms, with Georgia posting a snap of her on a girls night out with Laura alongside Caroline Flack and Ashley Roberts – with Georgia joking that Laura was currently on the “Strictly detox”.
