Jeremy Clarkson accidentally gate-crashes Danny Dyer’s boozy wedding bash
Former Top Gear host got more than he bargained for when he booked a relaxing weekend at the five-star Chewton Glen in Hampshire
JEREMY Clarkson went for a quiet break at a country hotel - and ended up in the middle of EastEnders star Danny Dyer’s boozy wedding bash.
The former Top Gear host had booked a suite at the five-star Chewton Glen in Hampshire to get some peace after a hectic schedule filming his an advert for Amazon's Fire TV.
But Clarkson was stunned when hundreds of guests descended for Danny’s wedding to childhood sweetheart Jo Mas.
A source said : "Jeremy couldn’t believe it.
“He was laughing to the guests how he had tried to go away for a quiet weekend and ended up walking onto the set of EastEnders.
“He said congratulations to Danny and Jo and then made himself scarce.”
But Danny's wedding threatened to be a whitewash as rain lashed down and the luxury hotel ran out of beer.
Guests raced around the hotel hunting for bottles of Peroni after they drank their way through the entire supply by mid-afternoon for the nuptials of Cockney geezer Danny, 39, and long-term partner Joanne Mas.
The star-studded guests — including nearly 30 of his EastEnders colleagues and other names from the small screen — later glugged bottles of Tattinger Champagne, at around £100 a bottle.
Hours of torrential rain meant an outdoor drinks reception had to be cancelled, with staff seen packing up chairs into nearby vans.
After several hours of boozing, with some starting before lunchtime, guests complained that they were hungry before settling down for a swanky dinner at six o’clock.
They also had to swerve using a fairground Danny and his new bride had arranged because of the miserable weather.
It did dry up around 10.30pm however, when they were treated to a no-expense-spared firework display which culminated in ”Let’s have it. Large!” being spelt out.
After the fireworks, held on the luxurious hotel’s front lawn, Danny paid homage to his beloved West Ham as I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles played loudly.
A source said: “It was exactly what you would imagine a Danny Dyer wedding to be.
“It was raucous, boozy and brilliant fun. The guests had a great time despite the horrendous weather.
“Danny and Jo were gutted that no one could use the fairground but a few hours later it was all forgotten.

“Guests kept going until silly o’clock in the morning. They’ve been looking forward to seeing Danny and Jo tie the knot for more than a decade, they weren’t going to miss the opportunity to get on it.”
After the fireworks guests then headed back inside where they carried on drinking having earlier been treated to a performance of her No1 track Skyscraper by X Factor winner Sam Bailey.
Later they retreated to rooms, where they carried on boozing in giant hot-tubs at the venue in Hampshire.
Guests included Tom Meighan and Serge Pizzorno, from rockers Kasabian, and Danny’s heavily-pregnant on-screen wife Kellie Bright, who changed into flip-flops just before dinner.
Others included fellow hardmen Ross Kemp and Steve McFadden, who play the Mitchell Brothers in Walford.
Danny, who plays pub landlord Mick Carter, placed his on-screen family including Kellie, Linda Henry, Maddy Hill, Luisa Bradshaw and Danny-Boy Hatchard, on the the same table.
Danny and his groomsmen donned smart grey suits, while some of Jo’s bridal party wore lilac-coloured gowns.
Their youngest son Arty, two, was chief page boy, while daughters Sunny, nine, and Dani, 20, were bridesmaids.
The couple have been together since they were 15 and Danny has proposed several times previously.
But the pair finally decided to tie the knot after Jo got down on one knee herself last year.
