Sinead O’Connor says ‘I’ll never be able to live without you’ as she plans teen son’s funeral after boy, 17, found dead
SINEAD O'Connor said "I'll never be able to live without you" as she plans her teenage son's funeral today.
In a heartbreaking tweet, the star spoke of her grief after the death of 17-year-old Shane O'Connor.
The youngster's body was found after he vanished from Tallaght Hospital in Dublin on Thursday.
The Nothing Compares 2 U singer said in a series of posts that she is now preparing to say goodbye to her son.
"Shaney, babba, stick with me," she wrote.
"Wherever you may also be, please stick with me. My baby.
"I don’t know how I’m going to live without you."
The 55-year-old has threatened the hospital with a lawsuit after Shane went missing two days before he died.
"May God forgive the Irish State for I never will," she said.
'I DON'T KNOW HOW I'LL LIVE'
Police had previously issued an appeal for Shane, alongside a photo of him.
The CCTV image showed him wearing dark jeans, a black hoodie with a colourful symbol on the front, a dark red top and white trainers.
But a spokesperson for the Gardai confirmed the search had been "stood down" following the discovery of a body.
A spokesman said: "Following the recovery of a body in the Bray area of Wicklow on Friday, January 7 2022, a Missing Person Appeal in respect of Shane O'Connor, 17 years, has been stood down."
Mum-of-four Sinead confirmed Shane's tragic passing - and shared a poem he'd written.
She wrote: "My beautiful son, Nevi’im Nesta Ali Shane O’Connor, the very light of my life, decided to end his earthly struggle today and is now with God.
"May he rest in peace and may no one follow his example. My baby. I love you so much. Please be at peace."
You're Not Alone
EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide.
It doesn't discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society - from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.
It's the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.
And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.
Yet it's rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.
That is why The Sun launched the You're Not Alone campaign.
The aim is that by sharing practical advice, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when talking about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.
Let's all vow to ask for help when we need it, and listen out for others... You're Not Alone.
If you, or anyone you know, needs help dealing with mental health problems, the following organisations provide support:

She later tweeted a Bob Marley song which she dedicated to Shane: "This is for my Shaney. The light of my life. The lamp of my soul. My blue-eye baby.
"You will always be my light. We will always be together. No boundary can separate us."
After he vanished from a ward, Sinead had pleaded with him to come home safely.
“Shane, your life is precious. God didn’t chisel that beautiful smile on your beautiful face for nothing," she said.
"My world would collapse without you. You are my heart.
"Please don’t stop it from beating. Please don’t harm yourself.
"Go to the Gardai and let’s get you to hospital."
