Renee Zellweger reveals she would love to become a mother following Bridget Jones’s Baby shoot
Actress had to wear a fake bump for the film...but would love to have a real one some day
RENEE Zellweger would love a baby of her own one day.
The Hollywood actress made the revelation on Monday's Good Morning Britain as she chatted to Kate Garraway about her latest movie, Bridget Jones's Baby.
The presenter asked: "Was it fun playing pregnant? As you had to wear this really heavy bump."
Renee replied: "Yeah you know, kudos to the mom's out there who can't take it off at the end of the day. It's quite a load."
Kate then asked: "Did it make you think 'Oh I fancy this'? or 'No way, never'", and without skipping a beat, Renee replied: "Oh sure of course! I mean what an adventure!"
While Renee has never had children, she has had a number of high profile relationships during her career, including an engagement to funnyman Jim Carrey from 1999 to 2000 as well as short-lived marriage to country music star Kenny Chesney in 2005.
She also dated Bradley Cooper from 2009 to 2011, but since 2012, she has been in a relationship with blues musician Doyle Bramhall II.
Much of their romance has taken place in private away from the cameras, after Renee took a career break for almost six years.
Kate asked the 47-year-old about her hiatus, saying: "It's lovely to have Bridget back, it's lovely to have you back, as you took a hefty break didn't you?
"About six years of travelling, why did you feel you needed to do that? Was it to get away from being a star?"
Giving something of a cryptic response, Renee replied: "Maybe a little bit of that, have a little bit of normalcy, but I wanted to learn some things.
"Things that didn't have anything to do with researching a character, that's all.
"A different kind of life experience."
The duo then spoke about the third film in the Bridget Jones saga, which sees the titular character pregnant with her first child, but unsure whether the father is estranged husband Mark Darcy - played by Colin Firth - or by Patrick Dempsey's new character Jack Qwant.
While all three took to London to promote the movie on Monday, Renee chose Good Morning Britain for her interview having carried out some 'work experience' with the programme last year to prepare for her role.
She said: "Bridget Jones is now a news producer so we had to learn what her job is all about.
"Everybody in the gallery was very generous to let us come in amongst the controlled chaos and I learned so much.
"I had no idea, the potential for disaster, extraordinary disaster at any moment!"
