Simon Cowell hires A-lister Hugh Jackman for private audience after becoming obsessed with The Greatest Showman
SIMON Cowell is so obsessed with The Greatest Showman he organised a private audience with its leading man Hugh Jackman to talk about it.
The music mogul made the confession after American singer Loren Allred, who sang Never Enough in the 2018 musical film, auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent.
After realising who she was, Simon told her: “I love the movie. I love it so much I organised a meeting with Hugh Jackman.
“Oh my god. I’m obsessed with your version of the song, literally incredible.”
Unable to stop his fan-girling, Simon continued: “Everyone’s tried to cover that song but in my opinion no one’s come close to your version. The soundtrack was so huge and yours was the best song on it. I honestly don’t get that excited during auditions but I’m very excited.”
Simon hinted at his adoration for the film after throwing his son Eric a Greatest Showman-themed birthday bash.
The Sun exclusively revealed in 2019 how he had splurged £30,000 on the bash at the five-star Mandarin Oriental Hotel in London.
Guests, including his BGT co-star Alesha Dixon and pals like Rochelle and Marvin Humes, were treated to a musical extravaganza. I’m sure Hugh would have performed for Eric if the cheque was large enough, Simon.
- THE Greatest Show-man’s Keala Settle, best known for singing This Is Me in the film, is also heading for a British stage. She will play the role of Nurse in the hit musical & Juliet for performances from March 29 to June 18 at the Shaftesbury Theatre on London’s West End. The show is a modern twist on Romeo & Juliet and is set to the music of producer Max Martin.
