Chef John Whaite gets cheeky in the kitchen with Lorraine with banter about meaty treats
The GBBO winner made a host of sausage themed puns as he whipped up a tray bake
CHEEKY chef John Whaite sparked sausage-themed banter with Lorraine Kelly as he whipped up a tasty recipe with the meaty treats.
The Great British Bake Off winner was in the kitchen on the ITV chat show roasting the butchers' favourite in a tray with peppers and saucy salsa - yet seemed eager to add a few tongue-in-cheek puns to his recipe mix.
Fans quickly picked up on his jokes about the chunky bangers and took to Twitter to reveal they were in stitches and "couldn't contain" themselves.
Bringing the Scottish host to the dining table, John immediately declared: "A sausage party is what we're having!"
Bubbly Lorraine gushed: "I'm really looking forward to this!"
Bursting into embarrassed giggles, John continued: "Sausage wise, I've got a huge selection of sausages," before showing off his range of thick finger-sized meats on the chopping board.
He added: "I like to add a little different sausage here and there - it's like sausage roulette - you don't know what you're going to get."
His meat-themed quips set Lorraine blushing and hilarious laughter as she continued presenting the hilarious segment.
She then got in on the sausage puns herself, referring to them as "bang on trend."
Yet John, who was a fans' favourite on the hit BBC show in 2012, didn't let things lie.
He then quizzed: "What's your preference of sausage?"
She then said: "I don't mind, you know me, I'm starving, I'll eat anything!"
Telly addicts were glued to the screen during their antics and commented on social media, with one writing: "John Whaite saying sausage party I can't contain myself!" while another added: "All this sausage talk is making my morning!"
