Now Tom Hiddleston’s pals claim he dumped Taylor Swift because he got bored, NOT the other way round
TAYLOR SWIFT was a picture of happiness as she headed for a girls night out in New York on Wednesday.
Her smile was no surprise, given The Sun’s revelations that she had dumped boyfriend TOM HIDDLESTON because of his hunger for attention.
But just 24 hours after our break-up exclusive, Tom’s inner circle have hit back, insisting it was The Night Manager star who ended their summer romance.
Team Tom claim he got tired of the US superstar because he is “a commitment-phobe who gets bored easily”.
The insider added that “even his sisters affectionately chide him on his lack of relationship staying power” and that his and Taylor’s recent trip to Rhode Island turned sour due to his obsessive fitness regime.

They’re strong claims, but Tom is clearly trying to win back some credibility after coming off worse from the split.
The Sun revealed this week the Brit was infatuated with Taylor and swept her off her feet with a string of romantic gestures, while going down a storm with her “squad”.
The feeling was mutual, until it became apparent he was a little too keen to showcase the relationship in front of the world’s media at this month’s Emmys - just three months in.
Taylor opted out before it got truly serious, which is why pals believe they will remain friends.
I’ve known Taylor for a number of years, she happens to one of the nicest, most down-to-earth pop stars on the planet — not to mention one of the biggest.
She’ll just want to move on from this and concentrate on her music, especially as next month’s she’ll be celebrating the tenth anniversary of her self-titled debut album.
A pal said: “Taylor knows what went on with Tom and won’t be affected by his team’s claims.
“It’s all water under the bridge as she’s concerned.”
Hopefully Tom will soon feel the same.
9/11 Carr crash TV
MAKING jokes about 9/11 to a US TV audience is a brave move.
But Brit comedian JIMMY CARR doesn’t need much encouragement to deliver close-to-the-bone gags.
He appeared on ROB LOWE’s Comedy Roast this week and walked away with the show’s most controversial moment – and it wasn’t even his references to CHARLIE SHEEN or the disabled.
Aiming a jibe at comic PETE DAVIDSON, whose firefighter father died in the Twin Towers attacks, he said: “I am appalled people would come here and make jokes about the sacrifice Pete’s heroic father made on 9/11. This is not the roast of Pete Davidson’s father. That was in 2001.”
However, it’s unlikely Pete took great offence as he made a dark 9/11 joke himself at the JUSTIN BIEBER Roast last year.
It’s not the first time that Jimmy, left, has made light of the 2001 attacks.
Tweeting on the tenth anniversary, he wrote: “Sept 11th. Date of terrible air disaster. When Eastern Airlines Flt 212 crashed in 1974. Killing 69. No one will forget that in a hurry.”
Not funny.
Bastille first listen
BASTILLE have always stood out from the crowd – and new album Wild World is yet another breath of fresh air.
I had a first listen ahead of its official release today and can confirm fans won’t feel let down.
Frontman DAN SMITH said he wanted the record to “flow like a mixtape”, and that’s exactly what it does, hopping from one style to the next.
From the funk-inspired bass lines of intro track and new single Good Grief, it jumps into the darkly electronic The Currents, about the rise of DONALD TRUMP and NIGEL FARAGE. Dan sings: “I’m swimming to the surface, I’m coming up for air, You’re making me feel nervous, I need to clear my head.”
The band’s favourite quotes from films are littered throughout songs including Four Walls and Blame.
The most surprising part is the sound of guitars, which didn’t feature on first LP Bad Blood. But thank goodness Dan learned to play, as guitar-laden track Power proves to be the highlight of the album.
Bad Blood shot straight to No. 1 and chart glory beckons again.

Musical theatre king's dig at "copy cat" Gary
ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER has a new theatre rival – and he doesn’t like it.
The legendary composer made a sly dig at GARY BARLOW’s upcoming BBC1 talent show Let It Shine yesterday, insisting it’s a copy of his Saturday night hits I’d Do Anything and Any Dream Will Do.
Gary will be putting together a boyband on the show to star in his new Take That musical. But Lord Lloyd- Webber, right, questioned whether they will be good enough for the West End.
He said: “I understand they’re looking for a boyband?
“What I was looking for, of course, and what was proven in the shows that we did, is we actually found some really, really talented people who’ve all gone on to have proper careers.
“It seems to me this is something rather different. It is sort of a child of my idea but definitely not the same.”
Let it Shine, scheduled for the New Year, will be co-presented by MEL GIEDROYC and GRAHAM NORTON, who also hosted Lord Lloyd-Webber’s talent shows during their run on BBC1.
He was speaking at the launch of his latest musical School of Rock, which arrives in the West End next month from Broadway.
As well as goading Gary, below, the theatre king also admitted it will be impossible to control touts and the reselling of tickets for West End shows such as Cats and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
He said: “I don’t know how you control this. How do I control that the £10 tickets sold here don’t go for a lot more money?
“I know they’re having the same difficulty with Harry Potter.
“You’re never going to get it 101 per cent right. It is important, theatre is important.”
He clearly seemed to be in a very catty mood.
Bumper day for Natalie
HOLLYWOOD star NATALIE PORTMAN promoted her new movie Planetarium at the Venice Film Festival last night.
But all everybody was bothered about was her bump as she showed off what appeared to be the emerging signs of baby No. 2 on the red carpet.
Wearing an off-the-shoulder white dress, a mini bulge was clearly visible.
The actress has recently relocated to Paris with husband Benjamin Millepied and their five-year-old son Aleph.
That’s a tough place to avoid pregnancy no-no blue cheese.
Harry Styles is an entertainer on- and off-camera
BETWEEN filming scenes for his debut movie, war drama Dunkirk, it seems HARRY STYLES was entertaining colleagues with his filthy sense of humour.
Film crew member Crystal Dennise Flores captioned this Instagram pic with Harry: “Despite what we all may think this guy is a pretty great kid. Great dirty jokes.”
