Viewers were left in a spin with two explosive Mitchell storylines

After years of booze abuse, the mechanic hasn’t been given long to live unless he can get a transplant, and tonight his son has said he will be that donor.

Ben has offered Dad Phil his liver

In a candid conversation with his father, after his boyfriend’s funeral, Ben (Harry Reid) says: “I can’t lose you dad.

“I’m begging you, you’ve got to get better.”

Phil (Steve McFadden) then says: “It’s not down to me, is it?

He then says: “You’ll be ok.”

This upsets Ben who says: “I don’t wanna be ok, I want you in my life.

“Shouting at me, winding me up.”

There is then a pause and the troubled lad says “So, I’ve been thinking, and I want you to have my liver.”

Ben was left shocked when his dad confessed that he wouldn’t be around for much longer as his health was deteriorating fast, and after losing his boyfriend, wants to help Phil anyway he can.
