Who is Simon Leviev’s dad Yohanan Hayut?

A man who was described as an ultra-Orthodox businessman said he was sold a false dream.

He told local Channel 12 in 2019: “I have waited a long time for this moment.

“I want to look him in the eyes and accuse him for daring to cooperate with his son and defraud me.

"El Al should be ashamed that it is employing a man like that.”

Has Yohanan Hayut been arrested?

Hayut was questioned in 2019 when authorities believed he was assisting Simon of defrauding hundreds of millions of shekels from business people, the Times of Israel reported.

At the time, suspicions were raised that Yohanan was involved.

He was accused of also swindling people by presenting Simon to contacts as the son of diamond tycoon Lev Leviev.

It is understood he was questioned at the time for hours after people claimed they were acting as a pair.

Yohanan's lawyer denied the claims.

What has Simon Leviev said about his dad?

Posing as Simon, 31, the fake son of real billionaire LLD Diamonds founder Lev Leviev, he tricked women across Europe between 2017 and 2019.

He pretended to be the wayward son of the diamond tycoon and to make it seem legitimate.

Netflix's new true crime documentary The Tinder Swindler has now aired the claims of some Simon's alleged victims of Hayut.

While Lev himself has not openly commented on the claims, LLD Diamonds did express sympathy for the women who spoke out.
