Model Cara Delevingne splits from girlfriend St Vincent just a month after declaring her love for singer in candid interview
The couple dated for a year and a half before Cara's busy schedule caused cracks in the relationship
JUST a month after gushing “I’m completely in love” CARA DELEVINGNE has split from girlfriend ST VINCENT.
We can reveal that the couple, who had been dating a year and a half, went separate ways during Cara’s hectic tour promoting Suicide Squad.
Which must have made it all the more awkward that model-turned-actress Cara had gushed about St Vincent — real name Annie Clark — in interviews before the film’s launch.
Not to mention the glossy Marc Jacobs campaign released this week, featuring the former lovers alongside each other in an acid-trip themed shoot.
We have frequently wished to be millions of miles away when confronted with an ex — so when billboards are involved it’s no surprise that Cara opted to spend a few weeks drunk in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert.
While at the Burning Man festival there, she posted a picture on Instagram reading: “Excuse me while I disappear.”
Our source told us: “Cara and Annie still care about each other, but pressures of the long-distance romance just became too much.
“The cracks were beginning to show on Cara’s birthday in August when Annie wasn’t there for her party.
“Instead she posted a very flat birthday message on Instagram. They decided to call it a day but remain pals and are hoping they can work things out as its no doubt they really love each other.
“But at the moment Cara has been trying to distract herself by partying.”
Close friends helping the star through the heartbreak — we imagine with industrial quantities of tequila — include her former fling AMBER HEARD and Suicide Squad co-star MARGOT ROBBIE.
Pals Christabel Rose and Octavia Calthorpe and model ADWOA ABOAH were also at her side as she got stuck into the action in Nevada this week.
Cara and striking Adwoa — who wore matching stick-on facial tattoos — were pictured kissing on a blanket in a post that was later deleted.
Maybe the dreadlocked actress was trying to spare the feelings of Annie, who has spent the past few weeks in the company of KRISTEN STEWART in LA.
Let’s hope she’s not the social media stalking type.
Louis back on the prowl after Rio and Lucy
GET ready, girls . . . LOUIS SMITH is ready to plunge back into the dating scene.
The gymnast, who once spent 14 hours showing two of his conquests his hair straighteners, is back on the prowl after splitting from LUCY MECKLENBURGH.
And while his focus on haircare isn’t up our street, we’re sure plenty of women would love to help him stare in the mirror for hours.
Louis told us at GQ’s Men of the Year awards: “I’ve done nothing since breaking up with my ex but now I feel ready to start.
After we broke up, I was just focusing on Rio. I’m on Tinder but it’s under my own name – I’ve nothing to hide.”
Louis, who flirted with a series of gorgeous women on the night, looked very dapper in his bow tie.
And he insisted that would be the only dickie picture we see of him on Tinder.
Louis isn’t shy of showing off some of his assets, though.
The 2012 Strictly winner posted an Instagram snap of his Olympic silver medal wrapped around a bottle of posh Belvedere vodka.

WINE O'CLOCK FOR NICOLE
SHE promised to bring “a lot of fun” to this year’s X Factor.
And NICOLE SCHERZINGER lived up to her promise, teaming up with host DERMOT O’LEARY in the south of France this week.
Our sources tell us Nicole and Dermot, staying at a posh villa for the filming of her Judge’s House stage, turned down an early night in favour of a lavish banquet by a private chef.
After the wine was gone, the slightly merry duo asked for port.
On being told there was none, they nabbed a bottle of the chef’s Marsala cooking wine.
Our source said: “Dermot and Nicole were having a great night. They were both killing themselves laughing the next day about drinking the cooking wine.”
Taylor-made material
NEWLY single TAYLOR SWIFT is getting more attention for her love life than her music.
But GIGI HADID let slip her pal, who has split from TOM HIDDLESTON after just three months, is back in the studio.
After the Bad Blood singer’s romance with actor Tom turned toxic, she should have plenty of inspiration for new material.
Gigi, supported by Taylor at the launch of a new collection at New York Fashion Week, said: “She’s starting to go back to work in the studio and really made time to be here for me.”
Taylor’s 1989 album made little secret of references to ex HARRY STYLES, who she was with before CALVIN HARRIS and Tom came along.
We can’t wait to see how they fare in her latest efforts.

But DANNY MAC has seen the sparks fly with his dance partner OTI MABUSE for completely different reasons – after he told us he accidentally headbutted her in training.
The Hollyoaks soap hunk, snapped with Laura at the National Lottery Awards – which will be shown tomorrow at 10.45pm on BBC1 – said: “Oti has been really pushing me.
“Injuries wise, I have had a few knocks, bumps and scrapes but she has had it worse. I headbutted her.
“It was absolutely an accident and I felt terrible afterwards.”
We reckon it wasn’t quite as bad as poor Oti was feeling.
