Boy George leads tributes to actress and transgender activist Alexis Arquette
The singer took to social media to write a heartfelt message about the 47-year-old, calling her 'my sister'
BOY GEORGE led celebrity tributes to Pulp Fiction actress Alexis Arquette last night following her death aged just 47.
The Culture Club icon shared a heartfelt message about the transgender star, tweeting: "R.I.P my sister Alexis Arquette. Another bright light gone out far too soon. Love to the family and all that loved Alexis."
Alexis played a Boy George impersonator in the 1998 hit The Wedding Singer.
Other stars also took to social media to share their grief about the transgender activist's sudden passing.
Lucy Lawless, the star of television series Xena: Warrior Princess, wrote: "I am so heartsore to hear of the passing of a darling friend #AlexisArquette Beautiful #Starman Shine On! Loved by many, Loved by me."
Don Mancini, best known for writing the Chucky films, also tweeted. "Much love to @AlexisArquette from your Chucky family. We love you always. RIP," he wrote.
Alexis had a supporting role in The Bride of Chucky and Mancini shared a photo of her with himself and other cast-mates.

Tributes also came from Adore Delano, a drag queen who rose to fame on Ru Paul's Drag Race, and Cassandra Peterson, best known for playing Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.
Alexis died on Sunday surrounded by her family and listening to David Bowie's legendary track Starman.
Her death was announced by her brother Richard Arquette on his Facebook page, where he wrote: "I am feeling immense gratitude to have been afforded the luxury of sharing life with him/her, for learning from Alexis, for being given the gift of being able to love him/her.'
He added: "Thank you, Alexis, I love you and will love you always."
