Jaime Winstone rants online about Airbnb’s ‘poor hygiene standards’ – but it backfires
She complained there was no running water in the rental property - but the owner says she showed her how to switch it on
ACTRESS JAIME Winstone is at the centre of a row over an Airbnb rental that went wrong.
She’s demanded money back for a fancy home in Sicily, which she booked for friends coming for her son Raymond’s christening.
Jaime, daughter of hardman actor Ray Winstone, had invited 150 guests and had a priest fly in from Rome for the event.
The Made in Dagenham star booked the Airbnb house for a pregnant pal and friends to stay in, but complained it was without water for the entire stay.
It left her having to deal with her frustrated friends as she prepared for the christening at her dad’s luxury holiday home.
But the owner of the property in Cianciana, in Sicily, hit back at Jaime and said she had failed to turn the water switch and had brought in more guests than permitted.
He also blasted the star as her pals smoked in the house, breaking the rules.
Jaime, engaged to boyfriend James Suckling, reviewed the property under her own name.
She wrote: “There was no water the entire stay and my friend was pregnant and very hot, so the hygiene standards were very poor.

“I would prefer a refund as I was dealt with many issues around the time of my child’s christening.”
But owner Jo, who has removed the property from the website, hit back and said: “I showed you the water tank and switch.
“Why didn’t you switch it on when your guests arrived.
“You didn’t call and ask me about the water.
“I would have explained it again.”
Writing a review of Jamie he was very critical: “Jaime had booked for her 3 guests, but they sneaked in 5 people instead.
“The place was left full of garbage.
“Smoking was not permitted but people had smoked inside too.
“I honestly would not recommend her friends or any other future booking of her friends.”
Jaime spoke about the christening in Sicily in a magazine interview to promote her role in Channel 4 drama Ellen
She said: “We’ve got a beautiful (christening) font, a priest flying in from Rome and holy water that the Pope sent.
“It’s a 150-people event, a lot of my friends are here.
“It’s like a wedding!”
Her pal Fran Cutler, a guest, posted a picture of the ceremony on Instagram.
