Jenna Coleman and Heida Reed go head-to-head in the style stakes at London Fashion Week as Victoria beats Poldark in ratings battle
Victoria won the ratings battle with 5.4m viewers, compared to Poldark's 4.9m and Jenna celebrates in a flowery number
A NEW front emerged in the war of costume dramas Victoria and Poldark at London Fashion Week.
Busty Heida Reed, 28, who plays Elizabeth Poldark in the BBC drama, looked like she meant business by swapping her period corset for a revealing floral three-piece suit.
But Jenna Coleman, 30, ditched the young Queen Victoria’s historical get-up for a patterned dress also featuring flowers as she represented the ITV show at the bonanza.
While there was no clear winner in the fashion stakes, the latest viewer figures suggest Victoria is edging the battle for the nation’s screens.
The ITV series — about the life of the young monarch as she ascends to the throne — enjoyed a peak audience of 5.4m when its latest episode aired on Sunday night.
But the Beeb’s Poldark — about an army officer who returns to Cornwall following the American Revolutionary war — registered 4.9m in the equivalent time slot.
