EastEnders fans moan about ‘boring’ plot revolving around BINS

Walford residents rant about the recycling — and viewers think the scenes should have been scrapped

EASTENDERS fans have rubbished Monday night's episode of the soap, which saw Walford residents discussing the new bin collection schedule.

In what appears to be a nod to recent changes in London, there is great confusion when locals learn the collections will soon take place every two weeks instead of once a week.

In one scene, young mother Lauren rants to fellow mum Whitney: "I know this sounds really bad but sometimes I feel like this house is just full of dirty nappies and incontinence pads and stuffy rooms and bleach up my nose.

"Who knows what it's going to be like when they're only doing the bins every other week?"

Whitney then wondered: "Which bin do dirty nappies go in?" to which an exasperated Lauren replied: "I don't know!"

There was even more confusion on Twitter, where fans questioned the point of the storyline.

One viewer wrote: "I love #EastEnders, I really do, but what the hell is this bins storyline? They just won't shut up about the bins and the bin collections."

"#EastEnders please get a new storyline over the bin one. It's boring," wrote another fan.

One person joked: "It's all kicking off on #EastEnders!! Last week it wad was the bins now it's the recycling!! Wow!! Hard hitting storylines!!"

And another said: "Sorry was tonight's episode of #EastEnder sponsored by Bins R Us? They mentioned bins more time than Sonia mentioned bloody Kettering."

"Blimey hav only just caught up with recycling & alternate bin collection days," remarked someone else.

And one user joked: If you've been affected by any of the Bins and recycling issues in tonight's show, please contact the BBC support line on..."
