Frankie Essex vows to give up yo-yo dieting after shedding two stone
The former TOWIE star has battled her weight for years and says hitting the gym has helped beat depression
FRANKIE Essex has vowed to stop yo-yo dieting after it caused her to have the "metabolic rate of a 47-year-old".
The former TOWIE star has battled her weight over the past few years but overhauled her body by losing an impressive two stone.
The 28-year-old has slimmed down from a 14-16 to an 8-10 since March 2015 and says exercising has also helped her cope with depression.
Frankie's mum Tina took her own life when she was 13 which caused her to suffer from depression throughout the years.
Speaking to Closer magazine, Frankie said she feels confident again after having a tough year that saw her splitting from her boyfriend John Lyons.
She said: "Last year was terrible. But I finally feel like I'm back to myself - only better."
Frankie said she used to munch on sweets every night in front of the TV but since cutting out sugary foods, her taste buds "have completely changed".

She explained: "I used to love creamy sauces and butter but now they make me feel sick. And wine now tastes like perfume to me!"
Frankie says her whole outlook changed following a Christmas spent binge-eating.
The reality star decided to get herself to the gym but was left upset when she found out she had the same metabolic rate as someone in their forties.
She explained: "I ate everything - and that carried on for a few months.
"I started going to the gym and there's a machine there that measure you're metabolic age - mine was the same as a 47-year-old's.
"That really upset me and I was so embarrassed.
"I last used the machine a couple of weeks ago and I had the age of a 25-year-old - it made me emotional and I felt so proud."
